Hi, I'm trying to render the corona test scene on two pc's, both are 4770k, Win 8.1, Corona v7.1, Max 2015.

I keep geting errors on the slave machine:

2014-08-01/16:46:53   Ready for new connection
2014-08-02/16:57:08   DR server started
2014-08-02/16:57:08   Starting UDP socket, local hostname: Render
2014-08-02/16:57:18   Accepted remote connection from MILI
2014-08-02/16:57:18   Parameters received: 2015 0
2014-08-02/16:57:18   Downloading 3ds max 2015 scene to render with 3ds max 2015
2014-08-02/16:57:23   Downloaded scene: 12,042,240 bytes in 4 s
2014-08-02/16:57:23   Running command:
echo Starting 3ds max DR... && "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max Design 2015\3dsmaxcmd.exe" "C:\Windows\system32/drData//received_scene.max" -o:"C:\Windows\system32/drData//dr_out.png" -start:0 -end:0 -continueOnError -gammaCorrection:1 -rfw:1 -sf  >> "C:\Windows\system32/drData//MaxLog.txt"
2014-08-02/16:57:27   3ds max is online after 4 seconds
2014-08-02/16:57:43   Closed loopback connection

I have checked the gamma/lut setup on both pc's and it's identical. What could it be?
Regards

hmm, 3dsmax does not give the best description... "Unknown error"

Can you try if scene C:\Windows\system32/drData//received_scene.max opens and renders correctly? And do you have backburner installed?

Hi!
The received_scene renders perfectly on slave, two days ago it gave me error that it was created with newer version of massfx, but the error disappeared. Backburner is inatalled on both pc's but I never used it.

The slave pc is built as a render node, only has max, corona and teamviewer. Service pack 1 for 3ds is installed on both pc's.
Regards!

If i render from slave and use the main pc as slave, it seems to be working. One strange thing is that the drData folter somethimes gets created in C:\Program Files (x86)\Corona\DrServer and sometimes in System32.

2014-08-03/11:45:37   DR server started
2014-08-03/11:45:37   Cannot read the config file, default one will be created

Make sure that you have setup and performed a netrender Job via Backnurner on EVERY Slave / Server, this helped me
as i had net render problems, i used normal backburner tasks in booth directions

If you have performed a backburner task on every machine in your network you should not have any problem, this
works for max 2014 and 2015

I assume that the backburner processes are saving some information for net render tasks that are needed by net render jobs

good luck

After your post I realised that i had a problem with Backburner 2014 that couldn't be uninstalled. Deleted the backb files manually and used a tool from  microsoft to remove it from list (programs/features). After that everything worked perfectly! Thank you for you help!

We have been having the same issue at my studio and its becoming a real headache. Trying the backburner setup idea BEFORE trying DR had a strange effect. Previously, we have been getting strips which we are trying to troubleshoot as an image renders in DR (same issue with the exr dump as mentioned above). The strips from ONLY once the dump has taken place as follows...

1. DR starts and renders normally
2. EXR dump warning
3. Slaves resume pass count at 0 (and strips appear ) while the workstation continues passes as normal.

*update* Once backburner was run and DR tried again, the strips and issue remains, but the strips are now inverted (where there went darker before, they now go lighter)

We have isolated that the issue is NOT a network pathing issue (these have been checked many times with lots of files + the setup works perfectly with vray/vray spawner)
Would love some help with this guys, we have 3 studios across Australia with over 20 artists and if we can get Corona working with DR there are a lot of us that want to use it all the time.

Sorry for tagging onto this post, I just saw the same issue as we were having and thought someone else might be having the same issues as us.

Alpha 7.1 currently in use. I'm guessing this is the latest build (public) and DR works with it?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Any suggestions?
Will this be fixed with the new official release?

Kind regards,
