So is there a list of features that were broken during the beta stages that have yet to be fully fixed with the initial v3 release? I remember issues with Team Render, Multi-Instance, Motion Blur...

I always use my working computer to render while I continue to work on another project. It RARELY will affect your workflow, but you will gain a lot by having two systems rendering in the background.

Personally, I would pay good money for perfect materials for all my automotive renders. I can get close, but I'd rather worry about the composition, animation and lighting.

Car paints, chrome, glass, tire rubber, interior materials, etc.

[C4D] General Discussion / **Render** Nodes for Demo?
« on: 2019-01-08, 01:32:24 »
I'm now running the final release v3.0 and was wondering if I still have access to render nodes? I tried and it loaded in the remote Mac with "no license loaded" which I guess is normal. My demo sees and connects to that node, but I only get the following results on the node:

That windows just keeps getting longer, and longer.

Go to Help in the Corona menu. I don't know how deep it is, but there is a "manual" of some kind in there. That's what I meant by **Yes It Does**.

I haven't seen any mention of a full, Cinema 4D based user manual. I'm hoping there is something I can refer to, similar to C4D's manual.

[C4D] General Discussion / Corona 3 Release License Question
« on: 2019-01-07, 18:09:49 »
Wow, I thought this was happening later this year. Great news. One question though, let's say we buy two seats, but both artists are busy on other, non-C4D projects. Can one of those seat be used by a third artist on another computer temporarily? Otherwise, the project will have to wait until one of the two systems are available or have to buy a new seat just for a couple of small jobs.

Thanks.

[C4D] General Discussion / Re: Corona & Team render
« on: 2019-01-07, 18:07:16 »
You are welcome! Thanks for asking. One more thing that came to my mind - some people also complained about the speed of Team Render vs. local rendering, but our tests showed us that it's just a matter of setting the parameters correctly, so it might not really be such an issue. That's not to say we won't investigate this too if it turns out to be a more serious problem than we originally thought.

I would love to learn about these parameters to ensure Team Render is running most efficiently. Right now, we're running into some major slowdowns. Please enlighten us.

I've notice that the C4D installer does not automatically create a Plugins folder in the app directory. You may have to create it your self, then it will work.

[C4D] Feature Requests / Unique Material Identification
« on: 2018-12-07, 19:00:13 »
So, since Maxon have changed some of their material thumbnails, the striped background to a new, very close to Corona, checkerboard pattern, it's very difficult to distinguish if a material is native C4D Node or Uber material or a Corona one. I suppose one could permanently change the object in the Corona material from a sphere to something else.

Just curious if I'm the only one that is annoyed by this.

731
That is a very interesting question. Also, which render farms support Corona C4D Beta?

[C4D] General Discussion / Re: Displacement Mapping issues
« on: 2018-12-04, 20:00:16 »
I was interested in seeing what the difference is between Height Maps and Displacement Mas too so I did a search. Some interesting things in this thread, granted it's from a game dev site, but the info still applies I believe.

I don't know a lot about the new Node window, but from what I understand, you can just have them all in the window and pan around, plus each can share a single node. There is no "this material has its own node editor" thing with Corona. I'm not 25 anymore, so I may not be remembering the details correctly.

If I understand you question correctly, you make a duplicate of the LAYERED material and rename it. Then you edit the materials that it uses? Is this correct? If so, this is perfectly understandable. The layered material is just a placeholder for what you want stacked on top of each other. You would also need to duplicate the actual materials and only make edits to THOSE duplicates. Then drag those into whatever layer they need to be in the new Layers material. Make sense?

For example, I have a bunch of car paints that use layers. There are four parts: The Layers material holder, the base color, the flakes and the top coat. If this paint is red, but I want to add a blue paint to my scene, I can't just dupe the layers and edit the materials to blue. I would then only have blue paint for both layers.
