[C4D] I need help! / Re: Light Flickering
« on: 2023-05-12, 18:09:48 »
Yes, flicker free is necessary, but I thought that was more to prevent the noise from being different per frame and dancing, no?

This would be "lock sampling pattern" in the performance settings tab.

If I follow your logic, we should only create things that happen on Earth? Luckily not, we would be a little bored... ^^'
But ok, Corona is for REALISTIC THING on EARTH. That's all. It's the Judge Dredd realistic LAW and no one can break it ! :D
More seriously, I find that a bit unfortunate to block this function, as if they were telling you "EARTH ONLY WITH CORONA, no divagation! Its a serious render ! We are not on Jupiter or Alpha Centauri!" :D
Sad they don't like to travel into the galaxy :p

I am sure I did not say that :P
But be it as it may, what you want also happens on an unharmed Earth, twice a year, on locations along the equator on the days of the equinoxes. No  need for space travel, the Sun expression can do that ;)

Still, I'd use one of the above mentioned workarounds if I needed the sun to pass exactly through zenith and nadir. Or I'd put together a little Xpresso setup, if I needed it more than once.

Engage!

[Max] Daily Builds / Re: Corona Decal Channels playground!

Beautiful feature!

34
Ah, no, sorry, I really got you completely wrong. I was not aware you needed to animate a scenario when the Earth is no longer rotating around its poles but after a cosmic event is rotating around a new axis that goes somewhere across the equator. My bad ;)

35
I might not quite understand what your problem is (but I think you are making things more complicated for yourself than they actually are), but you DO know that your sun rotation can be bigger than 360°, so you can start anywhere and end whereever you want, without being "blocked" at some point?

In other words: Add 360 or 720 degrees to whatever you need and go from there. More than enough space.

[C4D] General Discussion / Re: Corona volume grid object
« on: 2023-05-01, 14:12:25 »
"Nothing happens" was the misleading part of your initial message - something IS happening, just not what you would have expected ;)
Make sure to have the "Enable" checkbox unchecked in the Emission tab of the Corona Volume Grid.
Make sure to have the "Enable" checkbox checked in the Absorption tab of the Corona Volume Grid. Set channel to "density".
Make sure to have the "Enable" checkbox checked in the Scattering tab of the Corona Volume Grid. Set channel to "constant".

Now the cloud shoudl be visible.
Read in the helpdesk about the paramerters.

Have fun.

To Cinemike : Really cool to share Michael ! thanks a lot !!!

You are welcome. Hope it helps :)

To Beanzvision : yes I had posted a ticket to support in the past
To Cinemike : I tried Shawn Astrom tip with XPresso (Corona Sky Link to C4D Physical - Youtube) but cinema 4d crashed (I use C4D 2023.2.0).

Try this one.
The sun expression is on an innocent Null and is transferred onto a Corona Sun. The Null also has an offset parameter as user data to rotate the sun as you wish.
I hope I did not mess up something, please let me know if there are issues.

You could use XPresso to achieve that.

[C4D] I need help! / Re: How to use the Wire Shader?
« on: 2023-04-03, 12:19:55 »
I saw that help page after I posted. But I still don’t really know what it’s for. Why might someone use it over say, rendering the viewport?

You can mix the wire effect in any render with other "realistic" materials and you can use the shader in any channel, be it diffuse, opacity or even displacement. You'll like it once you explore it :)

42
My personal advice: Don't use the Corona shaders in this particular case.
Use the native variation shader instead and in there the Object Variation method "Object name", not the default "Objects" and see if that helps. The variation shader also has a built-in UV randomizer as a bonus.
As for the native Corona shader: hope for the best and wish for the "Object name" method to be added.

I hope this helps, curious if it cured your issue.

PS
Always put the object number changing objects deep to the bottom of the hierarchy in the Objects Manager.

Is, in any way, the number of objects in the scene changing? Raindrops from a cloner, grass count due to a camera frustum, something else?

« on: 2023-03-05, 20:09:48 »
Simple solution: don't delete or add objects :)

Longer answer: Do not change the object tree top of the object that has the shader applied to. What happens below in the hierarchy does not matter.
We need to wait for the Corona guys to add a fix.
