Small bug in Corona Decal.

In the object include/exclude.

If an object is included to receive the decal. Any object you link in a child/parent relationship to that object will also be included to receive the decal. Highly doubt this is an intended behavior.

Hi,

In the latest tyFlow there is an incredible landscape generator. It has a built in map for color and masks called 'tyTerrainColor'. It bascially returns a bitmap, so supporting it should be easy.

This is what tyflow answered when i said it did not work in Corona:
"Yea it seems some renderers need to add their own custom support for that map...not really anything I can do about it, as certain GPU renderers internally define the list of texmaps they support, rather than offering global support."

It works out of the box in Arnold.

Hope this is so easy it can be in the next daily build (prey).

Now i cant open the scene on my render machine and press render - because Chaos Scatter needs an additional license....

This is simply to lame and stingy guys.

Kind of feels like this should work and its really unfair that it doesn't. Already have 3 render nodes, do i need to buy something extra because i used a scatter function?

edit: looks like it doesn't work with backburner as well...

Hi,

Where: CoronaBitmap

When: If you try to animate Offset (U or V) and/or Rotate degrees (They are apparently kind of connected / wired)

What:
No matter what type of controller or what in/out type you assign to the animation keys the result will be a bezier curve that eases between the keys.
In the trackview / graph things will look eg. linear between keys, but its not linear, its always bezier interpolated keys.

Copying the same keys to a regular 3dsmax Bitmap produce the expected result.

Hi,

Ive uploaded a new file through the link you provided.

I really feel this is a typical example where motionblur should have worked. The tyflow configuration has been tailor made for corona acceptance criteria - no change in topology, still it hangs at "Transforming Vertices".

1. All particles are simple spheres.
2. There are no particles birthed / killed during the entire animation (no change in topology)
3. Particles are scaled to zero instead of killing them - so they are still in the scene, just infinitely small.
4. All particles are birthed at the same frame (frame 0) (the animation is reverse direction so they are all actually birthed at frame 500, just playback is in reverse).

Im using 3DSMax to export and the stand alone that comes with it.

eg:
Corona.exe c:\Temp\c1\export.scn -o c:\temp\test.png

But no matter what i do when i export (single, active time segment, range in 3dsmax) it wont render the range. I can see it "loop" through the animation when it does the export, but i cannot see any differences in the scn file or anything - its like there is no animation information there. The test scene is simple with a teapot rotating, one corona light, one corona camera, one corona material.

It just wants to render the last frame in the export sequence, nothing else.

Cant see any arguments for the command line that lets you specify frame, range or anything similar.

Is it possible to render a animation range or specify frame number in the stand alone? Cant see any way to specify this?

Hi,

Is there any chance you guys could have a look at tyFlow again? I understand its very difficult to add motionblur to geometry that changes topology. But when the topology is the same it should be able to load and render a tyFlow particle system. Corona hangs on parsing the scene for no apparent reason. Octane is almost just as picky when it comes to changing topology, but it renders these scenes fine. I would prefer to use Corona.
