[Max] Resolved Bugs / Rectangle/area lights facing wrong way
« on: 2014-03-18, 17:12:43 »
When created by maxscript, or old scene is loaded, rectangle lights now face 180° in a6 compared to A5.

This is probably known.

[Max] Resolved Bugs / Maxscript listener spam
« on: 2014-03-14, 15:54:19 »

I did a search, but I couldn't find any mention of this. Is is known that the maxscript listener gets spammed over and over by Corona with lines like this?

$CoronaLight001.iesFile = "{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}"
$CoronaLight002.iesFile = "{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}"
$CoronaLight003.iesFile = "{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}"
$CoronaLight001.iesFile = "{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}"
$CoronaLight001.iesFile = "{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}"
$CoronaLight002.iesFile = "{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}"
$CoronaLight003.iesFile = "{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}"

It is constantly spamming the listener window. I'm writing maxscript using Corona, and it's getting in the way.

Work in Progress/Tests / Another old space model rendered
« on: 2013-07-02, 09:43:26 »
The shuttle Atlantis. An old model found lying on a hard drive. I used the automated materials script, which really is a big help.

Obviously, it's had Photoshop treatment too.

A Corona render of a really old, and unfinished model. I think I made this before Opportunity even landed on Mars.

What I really like is how well Corona handles the displacement on the ground. I've never before found displacement to be worth the extra render time and memory usage, but Corona does a fantastic job with it.

I don't know if this is already possible, or will be possible, but:

I'd like to be able to displace a landscape and then be able to scatter objects onto the displaced landscape. At the moment, the scattered objects seem to lie on the original mesh, not the displaced mesh.

This is using the displacement function and the scatter function provided by Corona.

One last render of this object. Time to try some bigger things.

I just love Corona. I've been shouting about it on other forums and Reddit.
Today's love - Displacement. Corona seems to get it right where I've struggled with it before.

Work in Progress/Tests / I think I love Corona

I've been playing with Corona at lunchtime at work. I have to say, it's awesome. I've been extolling it's virtues on 3D forums and on Reddit. I thought I would post a random test image here. I found the model on

I love the translucent plastic. I've used a lot of render engines, and Corona is certainly my favourite at the moment.
