[C4D] Feature Requests / Re: Conrona c4d-max
« on: 2022-08-10, 23:35:29 »
There's a software called C4DtoMax,  from a company called 3DforAll, that does exactly that.

It's not perfect, on the materials some shaders get baked, others simply don't get converted properly, And it triangulates the mesh sometimes, but it works like a charm. Almost a one click solution into each software

Well i know but it in reality doesnt work anything, talking about high quality viz and hq materials. I havnt got a singe model imported that is perfect. Anything you import you must work on every material (only diffuse map is ok, everything else is wrong and you must make material again).. So for me same as i export model as fbx and load into cinema and make every material again.

[C4D] Feature Requests / Conrona c4d-max

Is it possible in future to add collaboration between max and c4d?
For example i work on scene in c4d, export it and other person load whole scene in max with materials, lights and continue to work in max and opposite?

[C4D] I need help! / Re: fast grass for large areas?
« on: 2022-03-05, 01:22:23 »
If its still image, render simle color and render id color pass, and keep shadows, later in photoshop swap with real grass image and you will need a bit of photoshop work if you need grass to show for example on buildings or any surface. Simply add grass on edges with brush tool (select grass). Hope you understood something, my english is not that good.

Bought few days ago, really awesome material quality, even for high resolution closeups.

Would like to see if you consider to update this pack a few carpets would be nice add on :)

Add first material of that cilinder than stack logo after and check mix textures on logo material

Well, i deal with it in a way to put xray "on" to objects that i put glass texture

Can you share water material used in tutorial? The one with shader ball in sea.
Thank you.

[C4D] Feature Requests / Re: vfb2 for corona

+1

and to add, i have 2560x1440 monitor and i render images in same resolution, when i render in corona vfb i dont see whole image in 1:1 ratio, obviusly because of stuff around that take space, and in 1:2 image is small, any chance to have fit to vfb screen view?

Juraj, whats with 144hz monitors, too expencive in 32" ips 4k?
I lost track in monitors when i bought mine (27" ips 144hz x2)..

I'm now maybe in position to swich for 32", but must be 144hz or at least 120hz, i cant go back to 60 now, get used to higher, 60hz feels like 15fps :)

Thanks

I would highly suggest against. Tis is TN panel, it has generally poor contrast, color gamut coverage, viewing angles. Visually the worst technology of all available (TN, VA(AMVA), PLS, IPS(AHVA), OLED), but with fast refresh rates, so cheaper gaming monitors still use it (higher end gaming monitors either use IPS or VA, IPS being fastest, VA having best contrast).

For color-critical work like CGI, only IPS panels (or OLED) should be used. VA has much better color contrast, but poor viewing angles and worse color gamut that can change across brightness levels.

Sorry Juraj, copied wrong link, ofcourse tn is not good, i ment 2 x https://www.asus.com/Monitors/MG279Q/

When i tried dual monitor, i cant work on anything else, just one day im gonna change them for 2x32" 4k ips

Your suggestion is better for sure, if 1 monitor is enough.

Have you considered 2 monitors option? I have 2 of those and im super satisfied

I think you can buy 2 for 1500$

It doesn't convert properly, unusable totaly with vray. Add for example layer in diffuse channel than add texture + color overlay, you'll end up with black diffuse in corona, and so on...
Same with C4D materials and layer shaders.
It is not perfect, yet it helps!
I usually do an automatic conversion, copy all original C4D/Vray materials over, place them next to their converted counterparts and start a manual adaptation. It saves time, because I already have the full number of Corona material, most channels needed are already active (and some even work already!) and I can copy over from the original material what I need to the converted Corona material.
It is not something I love doing, but creating all materials from scratch is far more tedious.

Sure, that's the way i use it, it helps a little.. Im just a bit sad that i see collegue near me load vray scene in max and click convert and its ready to render in corona and im making almost all from scratch(materials, lighting).. Also they have built in material library, good start to create any complex material, and if i want that i must buy siger shaders for example, thats +165e

Here is test file... with Vray basic material.

Here it works.... give a try.

[C4D] I need help! / Re: rendering from VFB to C4D or PSD
« on: 2020-05-04, 12:17:54 »
I just need to render 3-4 frames at night at settings i made in vfb (tone mapping, lightmix, blum, sharpen) and save in psd (with all passes i want) / cxr and have 3-4 cxr files in the morning.. I want image from vfb(vfb_test.jpg), and when i set frames and render from picture viewer i have different image(picture_viewer_test.jpg).. Sorry for quality of images, i just waited for 2 passes to show difference..
