Hydra Renderer crazy fast for real?

I have no idea what is going on here but (u?)hd cache precalculations should not take so long, so there is probably some manipulation behind this. PROBABLY. It is also GPU renderer so sooner or later "comparing pears against apples" argument will appear.

As Maru says it is GPU renderer for a start which throws the whole comparison already, particularly without any hard details.
As for the rest I am not seeing anything new or exciting here (please correct me if I am wrong).
I will be happily sticking with my Corona subscription for a long, long time to come I suspect.

hmm... apologies, missed out on the GPU thing... yes, I will forever be a fan of CPU solutions all thanks to Corona.

If you do comparison with rivaling software, then at least use latest stable build, not an unsupported alpha version. Just saying.

Not sure its doing corona a disservice to show that its slower at rendering an awful looking image...

Its pretty much a clickbait video, show that renderer doing a 6000px render which looks realistic which lots of lovely displacement, 8k textures and whatever else and then lets see how quick it is ;)
