I saw your renders on 3ddd. The amount ow work, you had put in these, is staggering. That is completely bonkers!

Just out of interest, can you tell how many gazillions of polygons that was?

So this is the whole neighbourhood modeled, then renders taken from various places within that complete model (so the neighbourhood is modeled in enough detail to take a shot from anywhere you like)? A little miniature reality, complete with seasons? :)

Yes, all cameras are in the same MAX scene
This is one big project, not many small parts, where everything is configured for one camera

That's viewport stats, right? Rendertime triangle count must be much higher with all that displacement and proxies :]

Great stuff...
How much time did you spend on this project?? And if I may ask, roughly how many % of the models/textures were done specific for the project from scratch?... This looks incredibly time consuming.

Great work Yuriy! Looks like you've spent quite a lot of time on it :)

Grass looks great. Especially on this one: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=16012.0;attach=63810;image
Can you tell anything about it? Which scattering tool you've used and which grass models?

Amazing work. May I ask what did you use to create snow geometry on objects?

Yes
I PC 5900X / 64GB DDR4 / Nvidia GTX Titan-X / Asus X99 Deluxe
The rendering time for each picture is different, but it's not fast, in the winter scene all the snow has translucence + fog + lots of particles of falling snow with motion blur and all this at 4500 pixels in origenal - it's not fast, I can not tell the exact time, but all The scenes were at least 300 passes, many more than 450

The project spent approximately 2.5-3 months
But I not only worked, I also studied
There was a lot of new for me
Work with snow is very difficult and very interesting
Had to read a lot, watch a lot of lessons, study the references, draw the displacement textures, study GrowFX and model birches

On the ground, sculpting in 3DF MAX and drawing displacement maps
On objects and plants helped the script Snovflo and particles with the plugin Frost

Only 5 pictures were commercial, the rest did for themselves, in fun, I study the theme of winter
On time, with training approximately 2,5-3 months
64GB memory but sometimes there was not enough memory, Displacement require a lot of memory

Holy Sh-t!  What a masterpiece.  I particularly love the dusk shots with the Christmas lights and the car shots.....although they are all damn near perfect.  Congratulations on a remarkable accomplishment!

Congratulations for the hard work on this! awesome result! love all the details.

Would be great if you could share the snow material setup and the displacement map workflow? have you painted one big map for the displacement or have broke it in parts?

Thanks for sharing!!

I can
Everything is as in life
