Title: Apply bump mapping to reflection/diffuse only
Post by: maru on 2012-11-07, 21:46:48
Mental ray style bump mapping: apply bump map to reflection only or to diffuse shading only. Good for coated materials.

btw last night I had a dream about Corona, seriously :O

I dont want to implement this (ugly, ugly fake), you should be able to get around it with blend material (probably in the future as now it would not IMHO work)

Generally bump maps are fake unless you're making holograms. Such shaders are good for fast coated stuff, but yeah, it's nothing necessary.

Yeah, bump maps are fake... exactly the same fake as shading normals ;)

ok... Keymaster spelled absorbtion instead of absorption.
