Hardware / shed some light on PSU calculations

Hi guys,
I was used to calculate the Watt of my new PSU by adding the power consumption of the single components plus a generous headroom.
I read here in the forums that you also have the efficiency of the PSU in mind when you plan your next PSU purchase.
Do you mind to shed some light on this?

I know of this thread https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php/topic,9686.msg62303.html#msg62303 here, which is great, but-by any chance- do you know of a place where I can look for models specifically related to construction sites and factories. They don't have to be highRes as the project will be real-time.

Guys, sorry to bother you with this. But can maybe someone help me out with this? I already have two render nodes(I'm on Corona1.3 ) and they work fine generally.
I remember I had a tough time and had to do some research to get them reading the license information. It was something about placing a text-file containing my license information?

I'm setting up a new render node and because I'm an old fart I forgot how to do it and I can't find it anymore. The DR-server says something about creating a new config-file and it is not found by the master when I press search 'LAN'.

Any help greatly appreciated!!! thanks.

Hey guys,
I bought 2 of those 2670 xeons to grab the opportunity to replace my old AMD-Thuban render(node)-heating.
So I would be happy if I could scavenge at least some parts from that old thing.
I got an http://noctua.at/en/nh-u12p-se2.html fan. I don't know how to find out if a second noctua would fit next to it.
I'm going to purchase the ASUS Z9PA-D8 board.
If it's not going to fit- what do you recommend? Find something with a decent noise level that would fit next to it?
Or go for a pair of Noctua NH-D9DX i4 3U like Jens did.

[Max] I need help! / mapping drive failed

I'm doing something wrong with the drive mapping- I usually work with UNC paths only, so this is the first time I used the drive mapping. So probably I'm doing something really stupid.
The rendernode doesn't find the assets in DR rendering, although I mapped the network drive.
This is how the mapped drive looks like in the windows explorer:
v(\\Computername)(V:)
as you already guessed I'm trying to map the V: drive. Does this look correct to you?

[Max] I need help! / f10- render setup window slow to open

when you hit F10 to call up your render settings, Max is comparable slow (compared to maya render globals)to open this window. But then Corona is active it's even about 2-3 seconds until the Render-Setup window is popping up-  Is this normal? Is there a reason behind it? I think this is very slow. Do you agree?

Can somebody explain me the behaviour of the IR?
My render-settings are HD: If I hit IR, it renders in 573x322.
If I had a full render before, it will render at half resolution 960x540.
Can I change this? If not, do you think it would be nice to have? Like preset settings for: 10%,25%,50%,75% size.

Can you reproduce this?
If you got a pretty long(sorry for not being precise in this) RE-name, Max will crash, when you fire up a Corona render.

I have a Light Material plugged in the GI-slot. A black material is in the direct visible-slot.
However the LightMaterial is directly visible. Only when I uncheck 'Emit Light' the black material is visible.
Is this a bug or is my understanding of the rayswitch limited?

Would it be possible to get 'built in' barn doors? Directly in the light parameters(like in Maya). It would give you much more control over your light.

I know of the 'Wireframe in Viewport' function which is good. But for more my personal taste I would like to have an option to have this on a 'backface cull' basis.
Sounds complicated but the only meaning is: Lights are shaded in the viewport when they are facing camera/perspective. When not- for example you're using a large soft, fill light more or less in camera axis-they are displayed in wireframe mode(or transparent). In this way the camera viewport isn't blocked by the light.
What do you think?

Is there a reason why the include/exclude option in the corona lights only have the 'illumination'-option?
This would be awesome!

In other Renderers there's a usually a max. distance setting in the Refl/Refr. parameters. If used right it can cut down render times significantly.
Will a max. distance value an option for corona materials as well? Or I simply misunderstand the technical background of corona? Then please explain.

Honestly I do not know if this makes sense to you: I like to play with the shape of a corona light(rectangle for example) in order to find the nicest look(e.g. in reflections)
For this I wouldn't want the brightness to be changed. For me it would be a great feature to have the option to link size and intensity.
So if I change the size of my rectangle light, the intensity would be changed accordingly that the overall amount of emitted light stays the same.
