Hi,
I upgraded to Corona 4 on Max and a scene is crashing if I'm using the corona distance map on two specific objects. I'm uploading the files now. Thanks
-
I think I figured out my problem. I had a distance map nested in another distance map and that was crashing the file. I rebuilt the material using CoronaMix and that seems to not crash now. Thanks
-
This sounds like some crazy setup which was not supposed to work correctly, but if you continue to have some similar problems, please let us know. :)
-
But it shouldn't crash either. Or should it?
-
Hi,
No it should definately not crash. Thanks for providing the scene. I will investigate and report it to our dev team.
Can you provide me with the version of Max which you are using?
Thanks,
Rowan

I'm also getting a crash when attempting to link a distance map to an object. It's happening in the 2018 versions of the Blue Cheese model that Pokoy created. You can download the model here https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=24969.15 (https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=24969.15).
When I open the model, the distance maps are not linked to any geometry. When I attempt to link them back up, that's when the crash occurs.

Hi,
Yeah the crash also happens for me with Pokoy's cheese scene. It could well be the same issue.
We will investigate :)
Thanks,
Rowan

Hi,
I'm using Max 2020. Thanks!
-
Ah, so this is why the scene crashes for me in v4. I created it in v3, everything worked fine, but opening the material editor in v4 will instantly crash. I uploaded the scene 2 hours ago, good to see you already are investigating it. Thanks!
