Keymaster, what is the cause can be that 4770k shows so long time in corona? It is may be some optimisation in code?
It is interesting because in vray test 4770k = 3930k

I have no idea. I havent done any performance testing on these CPUs
Rendering is magic. How to get minidumps for crashed/frozen 3ds Max | Sorry for short replies, brief responses = more time to develop Corona ;)

Afaik 3930k is a 6core (12thread machine) and Haswell architecture does not have that much performance boost over Ivy Bridge. It has significant power consumption difference though.

Non the less, I am quite confident 6core Ivy Bridge should perform better than 4core Haswell.

I wonder what Vray version you did tests on, as i remember that in one of older versions, there was some problem with multithreading efficiency. In 2.40.03 everything should run fine though.

i understand this but:

this tests makes me think about that is more interesting 4770k for 370$ than 3930k for 620$ (price in Ukraine) if they both are equal

and i think all are interesting in save 250$ for buy new videocard for example))

It really depends on many conditions ;)

But i think here they tested different CPUs on same rig: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/core-i7-4770k-haswell-review,3521-14.html

In simpler scenes, i4770 might come close to i3930, but in no way are they at equal perfomance in Vray :- ), wtf. I have both 3930k and 3770k (5perc. slower than 4770) and difference is exactly where it should be, close to 40perc.

Anyway, can anyone test it at current Xeon generation ? Is there any problem in perfomance scaling to dual cpus or xeon platform ? For example in 2x2867 E5 Xeons (16cores=32 threads).
