[Max] I need help! / Caustics in metals
« on: 2017-01-09, 18:46:48 »
Hi guys,
I recently rendered a ring modeled in Zbrush. The main material of the ring is chromatic but I couldn't get any caustics effect of the HDRI lighting over the surface. I tested Keyshot but it rendered a nice caustics. Can anybody help me? Does Corona support caustics for metallic reflections?

[Max] I need help! / Sharp render
« on: 2017-01-02, 11:35:55 »
Hi guys,
Is there any way to get a sharp result using Corona? Recently, I tried to render a sculpture using backplate and HDRI. All thigs were good else than the sharpness. All buildings that were far away from the sculpture were sharper than the sculpture while I used no DOF. All those buildings were in backplate. I tried to decrease tent amount from 2 to 1 but it resulted in jaggy edges. The only way I found was to use sculpture's alpha as a mask in Photoshop and sharpen the sculpture only in order to match it with the rest of the backplate. And you know that sharpening using photoshop changes the image quality, especially it's edges.
I want to get such a sharp result using Corona. Is it possible?
Please help me.
Thanks.

The only way to create caustics in Corona 1.5 is to use Corona light but the result of it isn't so interesting. The caustics look unrealistic. In Vray I can use standard lights so as to create high quality caustics but Corona's limitations don't allow such a sharp caustics. Can anybody help me to solve this in Corona?

Hi there,
If you want to buy one of these render engines, which one would you prefere? And why?
Considering you have enough money to buy each of them.

[Max] I need help! / Is this render correct physically?
« on: 2016-11-05, 18:44:36 »
Hi guys,
I tried to render my scene using Corona but I think the liquid inside the vial isn't correct physically. What's your opinion? Is this a bug for Corona 1.5? Those dark areas inside the liquid are unusual.
Please help me.
Thanks.

[Max] General Discussion / GGX shading
« on: 2016-11-03, 20:03:23 »
Hi guys,
In V-Ray there is GGX shading option that has an adjustable value called GTR tailoff. GTR tailoff is very important to reach a satisfactory effect. I'm aware that the only shader in Corona is GGX but is it available  to change GTR tailoff in Corona? I looked up everywhere in the material editor but I couldn't find anything.

[Max] I need help! / How to make powder?
« on: 2016-10-27, 22:43:52 »
Hi guys,
I'm gonna model a penicillin vial and the powder inside it. I don't have any idea how to make its powder to get a photo-realistic image. I provided you a real vial model. As you see in the photo, the powder has been scattered randomly over glass's wall. Please guide me to model the powder like the photo you saw. I use 3DS MAX and Corona.
