[Max] General Discussion / Caustics in version 1.6
« on: 2017-08-12, 14:27:46 »
Hi guys,
Till the version 1.5, Corona didn't have a good caustics effect for both the refractive and reflective objects but what about Corona 1.6.1? Can Corona 1.6 hotfix 1 render better caustics for both refractive and reflective objects?

Off-Topic / Happy Buddha 3d model
« on: 2017-07-12, 19:14:00 »
Hi,
I wanna download Happy Buddha model in .obj format but I cannot find it. I downloaded a .tar.gz but I couldn't import it into 3ds max. I opened the compressed file and it was containing .ply files which cannot be used in 3ds max. Can anyone help me out to acquire  .obj file?

If I model a car or any other industrial object in Rhino, will I be able to rig it in C4D and make animations?

Hi guys,
I want to model precise and perfect models like, appliances, industrial parts, watch, radio, etc. Which one of Cinema 4D or Rhino is the best option and can render the most precise models?
What about car body modeling? Can Rhino handle it better than Cinema 4D?
Please guide me.
Thanks.

Hi guys,
I'm going to compare these two major modeling and rendering softwares; 3DS MAX vs Cinema 4D.
Aside from their specific modeling capabilities, which one can produce more realistic results?
I have tried Corona in 3ds max but never used it in C4D. Can Cinema 4D render the same quality as 3ds max?
My problem with max is its bump map precision. 3ds max cannot render detailed images while I use bump map over an object. For example When I use bump map as sidewall text of a tire, it's only visible in close up renders and when I take the camera away a bit it gets blurred while Keyshot which has its own render engine and environment has very good precision in detailed spots even in faraway objects.. I set blur amount to 0.01 in the input bitmap section in 3ds max but the result is blurred in far objects.

Hi everyone,
I like to model objects like computer mouse, keyboard, motherboard along with its chips, knife, pistol (and other types of guns), shoes, clock, radio, camera, etc. I know that for organic models, Zbrush is the cutting edge but what about these objects which I aim to model. I have a good ability in Rhino but whether it's a good idea to use Rhino for all of them. What about Modo or Cinema 4D? Which one is easier to model those objects? I don't have any skill in Cinema 4D or Modo. Is it worth to learn Cinema 4D? Can it be better and easier than Rhino?
Please Guide me.
Of Course, When I use Rhino, I export my model into 3ds max and Render it using Corona.
Thanks.

[Max] General Discussion / How to render close-up floor?
« on: 2017-05-18, 19:58:36 »
Hi guys,
In some renders I've seen close-up high-detailed floor. I don't know if they are Zbrush sculpture or just simple plane and material. For example we see 3D jungle with close-up ground and dust or close-up trunk. How are they made? Even Zbrush sculptures are jaggy and undesirable in close-up views. In the following image you see there is a relatively sharp woody floor but there are also some other images that are very high-detailed than this.

[Max] General Discussion / How to render a noise-free image?
« on: 2017-05-05, 16:31:48 »
hi guys,
I have modeled a rim and I want to render it using Corona 1.6.
Because of metallic nature of the material rendering takes too long to clean up all the noises. I chose a small region to test how long it takes and I saw that that small region took about 1700 passes to clean up (Of course not completely). I used KeyShot and got this result you see as attachment.
How can I render such a sharp image using Corona 1.6? Using Denoiser removes some important small details too.

[Max] General Discussion / Curvature map
« on: 2017-04-18, 15:59:46 »
Hi guys,
Is there any curvature map in Corona? I didn't find anything.
If there is no curvature map, how can we generate such a map in  Corona? I want to make a procedural texture.

General CG Discussion / How to model complex shapes
« on: 2017-02-25, 12:06:01 »
Hi guys,
Excuse me I know that my question isn't related to Corona Renderer but please help me if you have any idea.
In brief, how can we make the model you see below? I mean, can we model it just using 3ds max polygonal technique?
There are handsome other examples that are more complex than this model. When I try to go about such a complex model, I cannot achieve a clean topology. When I add turbosmooth, it turns into a mess especially the curved areas. An another simple example is cutting a square hole into a cylinder(its side). I cannot do it in 3ds max. When I add turbosmooth, there are some wrinkles and messes at the edges of the square hole. Adding more resolution to the model and the areas around the square hole doesn't even help. Please guide me.
And again, Excuse me that my question isn't relevant to this forum.

Hi guys,
Can anybody help me to download a free high quality gun model for practicing some rendering techniques? Any type of gun is appreciated like AK47, Colt, etc. but it should be free.

[Max] I need help! / Bump map issue
« on: 2017-02-09, 14:37:54 »
Hi guys,
I wanna explain my problem directly. When I use bump maps, they lose the detail when the object is a bit far from the camera. For example, tire sidewall text has high detail when it's next to the camera but when I put the camera a bit far from the tire it loses the details and only large details are visible (of course with low quality). This problem doesn't exist in Keyshot. Is there any way to solve this issue? I put blur value to 0.01(the lowest value) but the problem exists.
For further explaination, I added some attachments as follow.
