[C4D] I need help! / Re: Proper color mixing
« on: 2024-01-02, 17:34:24 »
Thank you for the thoughtful replies.  Yes, I am trying to achieve color mixing through separate translucent or refractive meshes.   As I look now at real world examples I don't think this achievable even with real coloured glass.

Thanks again!

[C4D] I need help! / Proper color mixing
« on: 2024-01-02, 09:25:05 »
I am trying to get proper primary color mixing working.   I have been experimenting for the past several hours but cannot get primary colours to mix in render.   Is this a limitation of graphic processing?    I have attached an image and scene file.   I want the red and yellow to create a nice orange, the blue and red circles overlapping to create a nice purple etc.   With some playing with settings I can get a bit of orange between red and yellow but nothing near proper color mixing.   I tried this with Redshift renderer as well and failed.

Any ideas how a renderer could achieve this?  Am I missing a setting?  Thanks for any thoughts!

[C4D] I need help! / ACES color mismatch
« on: 2023-07-08, 03:09:41 »
Hello,

I am working with Cinema4D in Mac.  When I use basic color calibration color works as expected.  However when I am switch my Cinema4D project settings to ACES I see different colors in the interactive viewport vs the renderer.   The interactive appears to be the correct version of my color.    Any ideas what's going on here?

[C4D] Bug Reporting / Cinema4D R25 and Corona Renderer
« on: 2021-09-14, 19:49:26 »
Hello,  I have just downloaded c4d R25.  Lots of cool new UI and node improvements.   Has anyone been able to get Corona Renderer working in R25?   No luck for me so far.

Updating to Renderer 7 works for me too, thanks for the thread!

Hardware / Re: Corona and Apple Silicon

Thank you Ales!  I was able to install Rosetta and then launch C4D with Rosetta setting.   I just bought an M1 MacMini today and Corona is rendering great.  The Mini is pretty short on RAM (8 GBs) so hitting some ceilings there.  I was able to get my PC running Team Render and that is going well.

[Max] General Discussion / Re: CPU FAQ
« on: 2019-04-02, 18:38:01 »
My ram is 2400MHz on the ThreadRipper and 1600 on the MacBook,  I'm assuming faster ram will prepare the scene faster.  Since these are such quick to render frames.   I also think that having only two 8Gb Ram sticks on a CPU with 4 dies is probably causing the bottleneck.   Would that make sense?
Thank you,

I'm trying to solve a problems perhaps someone here can help me out with.
I have a MacBook Pro i7 and just bought an AMD 24core Threadripper.  They both have 16gb ram.

When rendering simple Cinema4D animation they render about the exact same speed despite the Threadripper having 3x the cores.  Whats going on here?  Am I bottlenecking the Threadripper with the 16gb ram?   Any insight you can help an artist like me would be great.  Thank you!

Jobs / C4D Corona Archviz artist - Remote
« on: 2018-11-20, 02:27:57 »
We are looking for some help with upcoming ArchViz projects.

Requirements
-Thorough knowledge and artistic use of Cinema4D and Corona renderer.
Sorry, due to the nature of passing work back and forth, this is a Cinema4D only job.  If you have experience in other tools that is a big plus but a thorough base of knowledge in Cinema4D is required.  Other 3D tools cannot be accepted at this time.

-Ability to model, optimize models and render scenes.
-Artistic eye for detail, light, colour and architectural and interior styling.
-Ability to take direction from creative director, meet client needs and deliver outlined goals.
-Able to keep team updated on delivery times and communicate clearly via email or other channels.
-Use of synced dropbox folders.  Occasional Facetime/Skype calls may be needed.  Slack is a plus but not required.

Sound fun to you?  Want to crank on some great work we can be proud about?
We are based in Vancouver Canada and will typically work together on commercial projects on a needed basis. As we grow we are looking to establish long term relationships with solid ArchViz talent.

To apply:

-A portfolio of links to at least 3 previous ArchViz renders is very much required to apply.

-Please include your day rate.

-One paragraph about yourself and what kind of work you want to create.

Send to: mail [at] gabrielsmetzer.com
