Enjoying experimentation. Used the new sky features on a Calvert Daylight studio model. Some more variety with Cirrus clouds would be good, moving it independently from the main clouds would be good as I see from comments its more difficult to randomise.

The Hawkins Commission

I'm on a curiosity voyage, and I need my paddles to travel. These cars...these cars are my paddles.

My second 959 restoration. 99% of the fog is Corona volume material with a few small tough ups in post.

After updating my grass and lawn assets from Legacy to the new Physical Material and Chaos Scatter so that I can merge them into new scenes I decided to create some quick vignettes of the different styles that I use. The striped lawn is done using geometry only, no cheating with reflection/glossy/roughness maps.

I also used this to experiment with the new VFB using more tonemapping controls and a mix of multiple LUTs.

Another restomod but this time a Porsche 959. Basically a more extensive visual change from Canepa motorsport's wonderful 959CS restorations with carbon graphic detailing, wearing centre lock 19" HRE 935 wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires as well as with a fully retrimmed interior & Recaro Sportster CS seats.

I used this to test out a new style of project naming, incorporating it into the render. Those of you who have watched Fringe or any Adam Curtis Films will recognise the style. All the materials are now Corona Physical materials that ships with version 7.0

Lighting is a combination of a 19K HDRI and Corona Sun.

I used this scene to convert some of my Corona Legacy Materials to the new Physical material and experiment with the updated Corona Sun/Sky.

A collaboration with Jota Automotive (@icedstar in this forum, https://www.instagram.com/jota_automotive/ on Instagram) using his Widebody WRC themed GR Yaris model. I built a road scene using the same assets in my other diorama scenes, again using Railclone and Corona scatter. I wanted to do some motion rig shots this time. Animated using the Drivermaster plugin.

Awesome work mate, I'm at the moment working on a personal project with the same model but in Unreal engine. I really like your design.

Thanks! This is one of the few projects I've worked on where I didn't get bored or fed up of it of it by the end.

A project in 2 parts.
Firstly, this is how I would resto-mod a 1965 Ford Mustang. Keeping much of the original styling, no flared arches or overfenders, but simplifying the metalwork dressing, adding a set of modern, proportional 5 spoke wheels & tires and updating the interior.
Secondly, rendering the car in a full 3D scene I've been working on that means I'm not restricted by camera angle or focal length or lighting direction, relatively lightweight and renders fast. As well as making sure the car is always the main focus of the image. It's all Corona scatters driven by distance maps to I can change the size of the scene easily. The barrier is done with Railclone, as that bends geometry where Corona Spline scatter doesn't.

The mustang is courtesy of Wire Wheels Club, who have a number of excellent free models - https://wirewheelsclub.com/free-3d-models/

Lighting is Corona Sun & Sky

I plan to have more variations of the scene (I have already done Maize and Sunflower fields in the background) so that I can tailor the scene easily to the type of vehicle I'm rendering.

Inspired by the work of Speedkore who restomod classic cars (and some modern ones) with carbon fibre bodywork, especially a 1974 BMW CS 3.0 built for Robert Downey Jr.  Based on a free model by Simon Grover - https://www.behance.net/gallery/98756619/FREE-Model-BMW-CSL-35

Doing it all in the Corona VFB means the DoF of a Corona Camera & backplate never really matches up.

Yeah, Corona users has been complaining about this for very long. It would be nice if the team would finally address this issue.

You guys mean that the Corona DOF cannot be disabled for the background/backplate image, right? So when using a photo, which already has some DOF, the final DOF is amplified?

(Internal ID=147284084)

Yes. Though I suspect a problem may occur when taking into account the shadow catcher ground plane. Disabling the DoF for the backplate but not geometry would still result in differences in DoF where a shadow catcher is used unless that could be excluded from DoF as well.
