I would like to remove RS from my Maxon One Too...I'm used it for some classroom training but the material editor is a total disaster. Annoying rendering engine...Corona is 100 steps forward....

I found the solution!! if you using Tone map control into che shadow catcher you must set the projection TAG to Frontal instead of leave as is...
If you don't use the tone map control you can drag the material into the object without set the TAG....maybe corona developers has set the mapping to frontal into the shadow catcher material...

Hi B,

Let me explain the workflow:

If you want to match the cgi with a videoclip into the background, the tone map control works perfectly to it and the video into background won’t be afflicted by camera settings.
But if you have some elements into the scene that needs to be “matched” with the background video you need the shadow catcher mat so the element will cast shadows into fake elements. But the tone map control shader doesn’t works on the shadow catcher so you must remove it from the shadow catcher material otherwise you will get wrong and incorrect lighting and color.

Often who work on compositing needs to match the video with some fake object for masks or shadowing and it can’t be done without compatibility of tone map shader with shadow catcher shader.

Let me know if I explained this in a good way :)

Mmm what do you mean for “hdr/shader slot?” to use the picture or video for composting placed into the sky is the right way but the problem is not the tone map control shader placed into the sky or background object, the real issue of tone map control shader is if you place it into the shadow catcher material. It doesn’t works and so if you don’t use it you will see differences from sky/backgound (afflicted by tone map control shader) and the shadow catcher objects without tone map control shader.

It would be great if the tone map control shader works if placed into the shadow catcher material for perfect video and photo compositing.
In this way we can achieve great result with compositing.

Thanks B, I wrong on my test the axis movement. I was oriented to the other side of the cube and when I was moving the arrows on axis mode I forgot to move my self to the other side of the cube...damn...

Thanks for your replay...sure I tried to move the axis of the object but I didn't see movement changes on the tiles mapped as object space...so I've thought to write here :)
Are you sure that the axis movement works as expected? 🧐

ok, I think that this shader need some improvements...

Im projecting the tile shader on a wall with OBJECT mapping (not world or uvw)....how does it works the tiles movement? How I can move tiles? I searched everywhere but seems impossible to do...
Ideas?

This popup error is related a some geometry  that drive Corona Render crazy. It happen to me rarely but...happens.
For example I created an animation where some objects popping up by from 0,0,0, scale to 1,1,1 scale. During animation I got many times this error...
I solved it by create an animation from 0.001 on three axis to 1,1,1 and the issue go away.

This happen when you have some object at scale 0 or if you have some objects vertex points outside of the calculation scene. In other works some huge object where the it bounding box is very very huge...

Hello! I played with Corona Tile shader...pretty good for me, but a question: how can I see the viewport preview? due to a technical reasons I need to see it into the viewport instead of interactive rendering...

I don't think any major render speed differences are expected. Perhaps if you use the Nearest filtering method?

Corona Bitmaps should generally use less RAM than the native C4D/Max bitmaps. You can learn more here: https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/articles/9813408385937-Out-of-core-Rendering-for-textures-C4D

We also have a new way of handling bump/normal mapping in Corona 11 and it works only with Corona Bitmaps - https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/articles/19161682524305-New-Bump-Normal-filtering-in-Corona-11

So you can totally use C4D Bitmaps, but Corona Bitmap is designed to work optimally with Corona.

Reading some topics here about using or not the Corona Bitmap Shader, I tried to convert a scene created without bitmap shader and changed all scene materials with Corona Bitmap...
I got the same render times...what do you think about?

Any tips or suggestions?
