Hi all.

I think I found a weird thing and probably a bug.
Since I installed the daily build 30/08/2018, every time I use a Corona light with an IES file loaded and I see it through any glass, the light body is not visible when the view angle is near to 90.
It seems like refraction "disables" the black appearance option of the light. If I turn on Thin Wall in the glass material everything works fine.

I uploaded a small crop of a test image where you can see the lights behind the glass are black!

Today I noticed that when IR is active, when I choose the "Put to Library" command from the Material Editor the software doesn't performs correctly the command. It doesn't save the material to any library. When I stop the IR process everything works as usual.

[Max] Resolved Bugs / CoronaBitmap > No Blur Filtering

Hi all, when I use CoronaBitmap I notice the Blur Filtering doesn't work at all. I change it from the default 1.0 value to 10 and the result is always the same. Maybe is a bug...

Gallery / Tisettanta - Metropolis

Dear all,

This is a new private project I entirely produced by myself for several months and I finished last February for the Italian furniture brand Tisettanta.
All the produced shots were used in their new catalog of the METROPOLIS series.

Lighting solution: HDRI + IES / Corona Light Material.
Adobe Lightroom was used for the final mood touch.

I am glad to finally share with you a small sample of images, in total were 52.

[Max] Bug Reporting / VR 360° Corona Camera align problem

Hi guys,

I think something is wrong when a Corona Camera is used to produce 360° VR images. Even if the target is align perfectly at the same height of the camera, the produced images have the horizon not leveled at all! Instead, if I use a 3ds Max Camera + a Corona Camera Mod the result is correct and as expected.

Do you confirm?

hi all,

I think I found a bug when on the objects properties in a scene we turn off both receive and cast shadows options.
If you do this and in the scene the other objects use glossy materials, the produce a very weird and strange artifact on their surfaces.

I am including an image and 3ds max scene if you need it. (2017)

Basically, in this simple example, the sky object has off both shadows options and the ground plane a reflection with glossiness.
Look at the strange oval dark shape here. If you change the glossiness value of the ground material, that shape changes as well.

I am not sure if this bug is related to the dimensions of the objects which are quite big, but imagine an exterior scene where the background plane is a background image applied on a tube or a plane....

Hi all,

since 2 or 3 builds (2.0), I have the feeling that the way Corona treats the HDRI maps for lighting purposes is changed a lot. Maybe is my feeling but is something wrong IMHO.
I use the same settings as always but now, I raise the exposure control and while the HDRI map gets pretty bright the scene remains a bit dark. It doesn't seem at all very natural specially on exterior shots where the sky (HDRI map) should be seen in normal exposure output. Now I have to raise the exposure a bit to get the image brighter and the HDRI map gets very over exposed! How is this possible?

I also notice that if you apply a Color Correction map on it the Gamma setting behaves differently than before! O.o
1.0 is the normal setting.
1.2 gets darker ???
0.8 gets brighter ???

It was the opposite till now! Is something wrong???

Hi all!

We're using the latest 2.0 daily build and yesterday I started a DR render with noise level 3 and today I found a crazy result:
The render is still going, 1098 passes - 278hrs left!!!!!!!   -.- 

I attached an image.

Something is very wrong here.

The only think I did was to delete the VFB+ plugin and I don't know if is related to this...

[Max] I need help! / HDRI map correct use

Hi all,

excuse me for the stupid question, at the end, which is the correct use of using an HDRI map for lighting? Do we have to use the Corona Output module or just load it as a bitmap with a color correction on it and tweak as we want gamma, saturation, ecc?
I am asking you this as I used for first time the Corona Output module + HDRI and I notice that keeping turned off the "affect VFB tonemapping" option the result is way to different as the HDRI range and colors seem more close to it's original version cause is not tone mapped. Till now I always loaded it as a bitmap with a color correction on it and I am wondering if I was doing the wrong thing as the tonemapping in this case affects the HDRI as well.  O.o

Hi all, I have a big problem, first time since I use Corona, I produced an image in DR which I I found ready this morning but has a lot of black pixels everywhere!

In local I didn't noticed any problem yesterday, while I was doing a lot of tests but I don't understand what is wrong with the final version...
I used RC7 and saved in Corona CRX format.

I include a crop sample as well.

Main responsibilities will include supporting the main production visualization pipeline by managing in complete autonomy small/mid complex scenes (importing DWG/FBX assets, texturing, lighting and populating scenes). The 3D artist will always work in accordance with the artistic and technical guidelines provided by the CGI Manager.

Applicants should have a proven experience of 5+ years within the architectural visualization industry, as well as a strong ability to work in a team, and should be open to new techniques, research and innovation.

Software skills:
- Autodesk 3ds Max (required) ;
- Adobe Photoshop (required) ;
- Render Engine: Corona Renderer (recommended - in case the applicant has no experience with this engine, he/she will be trained by the CGI Manager to become fully self-sufficient).

Hi guys...

Today I have a strange problem with a specific schene and only with my main workstation which partecipates as DR server in this rendering process.
Once the rendering starts the CPUs are constantly going up and down... I saw the other 2 DR machines and they work fine.

CPU Xeon E5-2683 v4 @ 2.1GHz
Win 7
64GB

[Max] I need help! / Corona VFB in DR Servers

Hi all,

When I send via backburner a job to a DR server, the rendering information window is the 3ds Max's native one.
I am wondering if is possible to get the Corona VFB when the servers calculate an image. This doesn't happen of course if the job is submitted to the main workstation where the main licence is.
