[C4D] I need help! / Texture Images Quality
« on: 2023-07-25, 10:39:36 »
I apologies if this should be in the bug reporting, but thought this may be something I have done wrong!

I have a high poly scene (8M Polygons and ca. 450,547 KBytes) of a house and garden with lots of Cosmos proxy trees and plants. Since running Corona 10 (first daily build) I have seen just the tree textures (mainly bark) in this model to render very low resolution. I have attached two images, the first is a render of just a Scots Pine Proxy with 2 render instances at different distances from the camera (Trees look fine) and another with the exact same tree imported into my model of the garden (now low res). Both scenes have identical render and lighting setups and rendered using Corona 10 daily build from June 20 2023.

I have tried the following:
Deleting the Scots Pine model from the Cosmos libary on my PC and redowloading it and replacing the models in my scene
importing the entire scene into a new file
Importing one of the Scot's pine trees into a new file
Creating a new Corona physical material using the original texture files
Creating a new Corona physical material using textures from my own library

All attempts end up with the same low resolution result. Has anyone come across this before or can tell me what I am doing wrong?

I am running Cinema 4d 2023.2.2
Renders were done to 1920 x 1080 with 10 passes (test renders) and no denoising. All other Corona settings are default with only bloom and glare set low in the camera. No DOF or camera animation either.

[C4D] Resolved Bugs / Inconsistent Material Exposure
« on: 2022-10-25, 10:37:56 »
Hi all,

Since Cinema R26 I have found that the exposure of some materials during rendering differs on both a single machine and team rendering an animation over two PCs. This happens in the render picture viewer and saved images from team render. I have tried removing reflections as i usually use images to create imperfections in materials but this made no difference, hence my now thinking it is the exposure. The problem usually crops up after restarting Cinema then using Corona for a few test renders in picture viewer, then running the rendering of animations that have been in the team render queue. Once started it seems to be present until the end of the rendering.

Corona is set to GI Mode Full and GI Solver UHD. UHD Cache is set to animation but have tried still frame and the problem is still present. Precomputing is set to 'calculate from scratch' and 'discard' as I can't get the render node to load a UHD file as the render node has a different username.

Has anyone else had this problem and know a workaround?

I am currently running Cinema 2023 and using the latest version of Corona Renderer 9. The specs of my 2 PCs are AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 64GB RAM on Windows 10 and an AMD 3990X  Threadripper 128GB on Windows 11.
