Hi guys,

I would like a little bit of help.

While rendering my PC went blue screen because of some driver I guess, but that is not the issue.
The issue is that the file I was working on now takes few minutes to open, even though before the crash it took maybe 10-20 seconds.. It is really annoying..

Can you guess what might be the problem and how to maybe repair it? I had done a lot since the last save and I would like not to roll back:)

Thank you for any suggestions or advice,

Best regards,
David

The file could be damaged.
One possible solution is to merge everything from that file into a completely fresh scene.

Hi Maru and thank you very much for your advice! Sorry for the late reply I did not have much time to play with it..

I tried merging it as a whole with ctrl-a and save selected,  but  that did not work..
After hours of struggle, it finally did work, when I went through the model, deleted some useless geometry and then resaved the model to parts according to layers and then merged it to one file..
Now it works again very fast:)

Thank you anyway

Not sure how you did this but my idea was File > Merge.

I am not quite sure what you are talking about.. do you mean import - merge option under general 3dsmax tab or is there something more to this?)

I actually saved it as a new scenes, divided by layers so I can find which geometry is false.. and then merged them all together to new project..
Was there easier and quicker way? :D

What I meant was:
1. Reset Max
2. File > Import > Merge the old corrupted file

It sometimes helps. Not sure about this case.
