Title: distributed rendering problem!!
Post by: Scuffi on 2021-11-17, 16:15:44
Hello to all!! I noticed a problem with version 7 (HFX1) in distributed rendering with large scenes.
With all files exceeding 2.5Gb if I use distributed rendering 3ds max crashes (I use version 2021). With small files this does not happen.
Anyone have the same problem?
If I reinstall 7 can I have problems with files created with 7.1?
Help!!!

Hi,

Do you have enough RAM in your PCs to render these scenes?

On the main machine 128Gb and on the nodes 64Gb, but if I render with Backburner every single pc renders the scene by itself without problems

Hi,

We have had some similar reports of this, would you be able to provide us with a scene?

Cheers,

Rowan

Subbing to thread because I'm experiencing the same.  The magic point for me is around 4.1gb.  I have to strip my work scenes down to that size (roughly) else Corona/3dsMax will freeze/lock when I hit render with DBR enabled.

(AMD threadripper CPUs / 128gb RAM / 3dsMax 2021 / Corona 7 hotfix 1 / Win10 OS)

I will also see if I can submit a scene that freezes.

sure I send you a scene without problems! Can you give me an email where to send the file?
today, in a very simple rendering, I received an error message that I send to you together.

Hi,

Sorry it's taken a while for me to get back to you. I have managed to reproduce this with your scene and I have added it to the bug report I mentioned above.

I'll let you know when I have some more information.

I wanted to bump this & ask if the similar issue I reported experiencing is in fact the same or if I need to create a new thread for my issue?  I had also submitted a file for review (DBR_Crash_Sample.7z).

Thanks

I AM INVESTIGATING ON THE MEGASCAN QUIXEL MATERIAL, I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON A SIMPLE SCENE BUT WHERE I HAVE USED THEIR MATERIALS. EVEN IN THE SCENE WHERE I HAD PROBLEMS BEFORE, THEIR PRODUCTS WERE PRESENT.

hello everyone, news on this problem? I look forward to seeing that the jobs I normally do have dimensions that always exceed the limit that has been found. In tests done with version 8 I encountered the same problem in the same scenes.

Hi Guys,

The issue of not being able to render scenes over 4GB in size with DR is fixed in v8 RC3.

You can get it here:https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=33839.msg196846#msg196846

Thanks,

Rowan
