It would be great to see an extended version of corona MatLib to store pre-created materials. I think it is said a million times but just wanted to mention it anyway :)

You won't face any significant difference between ddr3 or ddr4 for rendering.

More memory is better though. 32 or more is basic amount for decent workflow.

[Max] I need help! / Re: Metal materials - Refl glossiness
« on: 2020-02-25, 08:05:03 »
For the moment corona has only the PBR option checkbox (that is better for setup i mean) which slightly changes material behaviour to archieve good glossiness look. You don have to think about any other conversion options from VRAY. Just some play with map output (contrast, etc). Dont overcomplicate things)

One more thing i want to mention - you can archieve better metal using almost nonexistence diffuse (that is the rule for metalic surfaces) (in some cases it is possiple to add slight dark tone in it) and turn off fresnel (999) with ComplexFresnel plug-in in reflection colour.

I dont know what was the reference but mountains looks kinda weird for my eyes. Usually peaks seems to be much more sharp and edgy to the tops. Especially snow topped peaks like you moddeled. May be you can try some script like MaxMounts (good one for the price, tested) or special software like WorldCreator (my personal choose)?

I try to use uvw randomizer map with ID material mode and Material By element modifier. It seems not working for me.

Hello guys! Is it possible to combine trplanar map with uvw randomization map (for randomiztion by object elenment)? I am trying right now with now succes :(

Unfortunately new toolbar in orange looks awful. Rolled back to pevious daily due having conflict with installed toolbar and also unclear visual apperance.  i Use https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=8930.0 this one on 2018 max, it makes workflow faster beacuse has converter button. Could it possible to add same button to in-house script? Also that script uses more convinient buttons (visual separation by function type).

Gallery / Design Museum (VR tour)
« on: 2017-08-05, 11:22:11 »
This is my graduation project. That project was reconstruction, designing and visualization. I worked with complex space and light, creating simple structure for museum. I designed some specific assets for the space. And i hope it will be realized soon.
You can use theConstruct for WEB viewing my project. The great idea for presentation! (The service should be simplified a bit. For example i cannot enter the project builder from main page. It so strange but fact.) I also hate slow WEB viewer loading.

https://theviewer.co/share/cb9dd882-3e67-48fe-8cc0-7a11471b4db8/galleryView (use mouse and view points to navigate)

I also want to see couple features in CoronaVR viewer:
1. Grouping project images under one icon. When i have one project it is no a big deal. When i work on 2 or more projects - loader interface with bunch of images become over complicated.
2. The own video recording algorithm. I used third party applications, but video which they do looks shaky :( It is much better if software algorithms would smoothen head motions.  I mean screen recording when using VR headband :)

Thank you Corona team! I have gained a lot of experience in 3D technologies with you. Thank you for all knowledges i have learnt from you and the best community. Let's go further!

Corona rayswitchmtl doesn't work correclty as part of Layered Material. Although it works well by itself.

1. Image with LayeredMtl looks like material used for rayswitch GI on concrete floor (base layer).
2. Image with rayswitch Concrete only (i forgot to disconnect it from Layered but anyway..)

Hello guys! Working on project i face a question for fastest solution for my semi transparent paneled ceiling. As it is my main light source i need the most "transparent" and correct mtl for fastest rendering. Below i attach current mtl and couple screenshots. I also photographed some references at the street:). Should i decide between physical correct and rayswitched mtl or not?
The panels have some thickness as well. It nessesary to be for sufficient dispersion for nightlight. There is small LED platform behind each panel.

I use this https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=8205.0 topic as a starting point.

It looks better. You can also try such material setup : 1.0 level for reflection/refraction, both 1.33 ior, with no glossines of course. Than simply set a slight absorbtion colour (greeneesh for examaple) and distance to your taste (bigger distance - less coloration). That'll all possible setup :) Now it's time to polish the other materials :)

You can simplify the water material but keep two positions in the mind :  use OceanTexMap (from phoenix FD) for water displasment and try to model water not only as surface but as volume. i've used this tricks at once  and i think it was quite good try. Here is two pics with raw prerender and artistic post. Good luck!

In additional you can use the new CoronaDistance map to achieving an interesting water effects near wooden columns.
