Is the problem that the stuff behind the glass doesnt get any ao because realistically in the ao pass the glass is solid white and therefore no ao is visible through it?

would it be possible to use a slot similar to the the material override slot that would stop a certain material from being overridden i.e. the glass material? That way it with a CTexmap of AO the glass would still render as glass/completely transparent?

Ah ok, Im fairly new to working with rendering for print. What would you recommend for an image this size? The wall is 2.65mx4.5m. Should i just take the size i have calculated and proportionately scale it until both values are below 10k?
The dpi isnt set by the client no, however it will be viewed up close so im thinking that 150dpi would have been better. Im waiting to hear back from our signage contractors on what dpi they would print at. Im hoping its 72!

[Max] Resolved Bugs / Largest Size corona will render?

I got a bad allocation error when trying to render an absolutely gigantic image (21000x35600).
Im going to try a render at a much smaller size but i wondered if there is a limitation somewhere in my system or the software itself that will cause issues with large images?
The image was for a huge wall vinyl if anyone was wondering.

its strange what doesnt look correct when you really analyse something despite it being accurate. i always think of that thread early on in alphas where someone built real lenses and stuck them infront of the max camera and they worked. It reminds me that if ive set it up correctly the corona is always right :D

Do you have a portal in your window?

Oh right i see. I completely forgot about deadclowns script. So you want something people can view on mobile in the cardboard but that doesnt rely on an app etc? Im pretty sure chrome users have overtaken IE users quite drastically and im sure theres plenty of chromeVR utilities for this purpose?

Max's built in panorama exporter works great and it works on the google cardboard. All you need to do is render out 2 panoramas from 2 cameras on a rig of 2 cameras. i tried this out back in v0.7 and it worked then perfectly, i cant see why it wouldnt work now.

EDIT: My bad i now realise you want full stereo. Perhaps someone could so something similar to max's wraparound lens shader only with the pivot offset.

You need to get some sort of sample rate pass on this and see where youre messing up, it shouldnt take so long for a clean render. As for the mask issue, the dark bars thing happens on DR's quite often because of gamma or missing texture issues but ive never seen it affect a render element in my snlurking around these forums. Does it happen on other render elements if you add them?

Im on my work PC now and ive realised that the image is alot darker than i thought, ive been having calibration problems with my monitors recently, it might be time to buy a new one. Ill give all fo your suggestions a try, thanks for the help so far! Also in regards to the portals, Its very useful that they work with any light :D

Here is a brighter version of the image adjusted so it looks the same on my work pc as it did at home.

WOW i didnt know portals worked for all lights, for some reason i had it in my head they only worked with sun. The volumetrics are so much more defined with them. Great tip! The diffusion from the volumetric material is casting some nice ambient light around at the moment

Something like that i think. perhaps i just need to increase the contrast and lower the light intensity, perhaps make it a little less directional and a little more diffused? I think post production might be the best way to go now you mention it. Im not using a portal no, Should i be? I Havent used a daylight system or sky as i cant figure out how to emulate night so at the moment im using a disk light with the kelvin at about 10k. Should i be usig a daylight system & portal and just adjusting the colour balance and adding some post processing?

Is it possible? It would be absolutely epic if you could adjust your DOF in the VFB if you had also rendered a Depth Pass. Not sure how many others agree if any?
Would definitely be a cool feature though!

Hi, im reworking an old university project of mine in corona and im struggling to achieve a cinematic moonlight interior shot. Im aware that the light reflected by the moon is the same colour as the sun and that its only perceived as tinted blue because of the way our eyes work but this doesnt translate to screen because your eyes arent seeing raw light theyre seeing something computed and absolute. So how can i achieve that moonlit look without the scene being very very dark. some sort of ambient light maybe?
the scene takes place in an attic. At the moment it just looks like daylight through the skylights.

Bear in mind this is a severely WIP image being converted from mental ray and none of the materials have been remade as of yet.
