No errors, ive noticed the RAM useage climbing up towards the 30GB mark. Like i say its a huge scene. I might be able to send the file but its really not up to me unfortunately.

i havent got the stats yet but whats interesting is that if i apply a light material to my ceiling (like a suspended tile style light gird) and render that, its much much faster and easier to cancel and start than if i had say 20 lights that were very long and thin, (im talking 250mm x 50000mm, simulating huge long led strips)

after about 6 restarts of max the vfb decided to open. Strange but resolved.

I can probably send you the render data but im not sure i can send the file as its a live scheme we are working on at work. Ill get those stats posted soon though.

Hi, im not sure if this is a bug or if its just simply the size of my scene but ive noticed that even if you use a small number of lights (less than 25) in a vast area (about 100,000sqft) corona is just ridiculously slow during precalc and during rendering and can take anything up to 10 minutes to begin rendering and about the same to successfully cancel the render and resume editability ijn max.
Any ideas how i can rectify this?

Thanks
Jack

ive tried switching to the max buffer and that works fine. ive closed and reopened the file and tried switching the renderer back and forth and nothing happens.

Corona 1.3, Max 2014. I had the vfb up. I cancelled a render and closed it and now it doesnt show when i click the show vfb button or even during rendertime.

It is a massive scene and its chewing through a good 28gb of ram. Its alot of geometry but its all pretty low poly.
Im starting to think its because of the area im trying to light. When i use one light over everything it starts quickly.
When its 30+ lights it starts to struggle.

yeah standard settings. the building acc phase takes about 6 minutes on the file im working on now. however it is an area of well over 150,000sqft. im wondering if its just the sheer size of the scenes i work with that corona and my machine is struggling with. perhaps i should upgrade my ram to see if max handles the file any better.

Hi, i work in a small design team and we all work off a server with lots of ssd power. Im wondering if there is a network speed issue when rendering. Does corona and indeed max, have to grab the texture files from the server each time? or does max cache them to the hard disk when it opens the file?
It just seems that despite my machine being ridiculously beefy (2 x xeons with 2 quadro k4000's and 32gb 3000mhz ram) they run quite slow especially in the precalc phases of rendering.
Thanks
Jack

^im getting the same problem. The strange thing is, if i open the passes in photoshop they all look bright white or completely black but if i look at them through the max save file dialog they all look fine. Altus outputs a completely black image (bar the watermarking)

I dont think saying that max's slice and proboolean are the options available would be classed as a resolution to the feature request...

Any plans for a tool such as this? or render support for the vray clipper?

It would be very useful for architectural renders to have a Corona slice tool like vray's where it caps off the slice with the colour it slices and only slices at rendertime.
Anyone with me?
