Glad i read this. i was about to go into work tomorrow and light a 50k sqft building with ies lights and play around with lightmixer. maybe ill postpone that project until one of the team chimes in :D

@tomg any chance you could share your method? ive never used fusion before. ive used AE but couldnt figure out the correct blnding mode to use to get the correct lighting? I assume it also has to be in linear 32bit mode?

I have the same issue. Its a no on all fronts for my scene Maru. happens with a max standard grey shader on ceiling columns and where the walls intersect the ceiling too. Modelled in mm accurate scale and centered on the origin. I noticed it a couple of days ago but thought it was maybe because i wasnt leaving it to render enough before denoising. Ive also noticed that there seems to be alot of colour cast in corner shadows (where AO would happen)  that looks very unnatural.

Ive noticed something strange regarding light materials. So i have a ceiling tile light grid which is set as an emissing corona material. Ive added it to its own group and its no longer on the rest group. However i have a TV and i tried adding that to its own group with the same material setup and for some reason it doesnt move from the 'rest' group.

Hubble image. desat, played with levels and blurred slightly. Looks pretty darn close to me!

this might be a bit out therer but i wonder if you could use some black and white images of stuff like nebula and stars to mask them off. the pattern looks like an inverted image from hubble!

If you can dump the exr on your 'master' machine you could resume rendering locally and play with the lighting.

Just to have a linear compositing environment within a renderer is fantastic. Ive literally been playing with lightmix at work for the past 8 hours. Its come at the right time too. we are about to work on some 40k sqft buildings and we wanted to be able to adjust the colour temperature of the lighting depending on the zone interactively. this will make that so much easier!

Plugging in a substance metalness into the reflection IOR makes my material look very strange. almost opalescent. Is metalness supported yet?

Hi, I want to save out my lightmixer passes in 32bit so i can do some linear comp in photoshop but i cant open the file. Has anyone got any ideas how i can do this? Do i still need to mess around in after effects to be able to do this?

Lightmix is quite possibly the best feature of a renderer ive ever seen. Its phenomenal. Instant changes. I cant believe it. Well done guys! Expect a few purchases when that gets out in the community!
