It is clearly obvious what is going on here first corona gets bought by chaos group then every amazing thing of corona gets stripped off and added into vray and lastly the implementation of ideas and development of corona gets slowed down or virtually non existent until Majority of the user base of corona can't take it any longer but to move over to Vray then Corona gets Killed off. The price increases are just to speed thing along smh.

This is not what is happening - there is no slowing of Corona development, we have the same number of people in development, so that is progressing at the same speed as always, in that we are putting just as much work into every release as we always have. There are no plans for this to change. Just wanted to share that fact to avoid unnecessary speculation taking root.

Because at this point Vray gets developed faster and less buggier and any supposedly new feature coming to corona already exists a year or two earlier in Vray. So the question remains why pay for Corona when Vray is the Main focus of Chaos Group while still paying the same amount for lesser features.

Hi devs, struggled to find news on this but what's the latest on the 4k Cache? Is it still undergoing development? Is it recommended for use in any particular scenarios over standard UHD Cache?

Hi Alex,

4K Cache has been my default secondary solver since its release in Corona Renderer 6. I remember that, at that time, I was working on a retail store with UHD cache, and the results were good. However, I then experimented and tried 4K on the same camera. I was really impressed by how many "splotches" UHD cache produced in comparison with 4K cache. It was almost invisible if you looked only at the UHD cache result, but very noticeable when you compared them both via VFB history.

In my experience, 4K Cache is also about 10-20% faster in rendering, and it precomputes really fast, which is especially good for animations and gave me trouble only once—I got around 5 frames of my 300-frame animation corrupted. The frames were rendered only partially and had analog film defects..I had to re-render 5 frames with the same settings individually, and the problem was resolved. 4K Cache also works well with the Intel AI Denoiser.

One significant issue with 4K Cache is that you can not get proper results when baking the textures with explicit normals. I have described this issue here:

Is it only useful for Animation or does it benefits Single frame images. And which scenario is it much better than Uhd Big windows interior scene vs Standard window interior scene?

Hello corona team
Would it be possible to include an option to enable Roughness Modulation in older corona scenes in the Corona Scene Converter?
And when working with older scene are we supposed to change the Filtering to Roughness Modulation in the system settings?

Is it Possibly for corona to retain its ability to install Its Material library in future release? Tbh I like the Collection of Material Presets which are provided am not really Excited with the idea of looking for new Preset materials on cosmos.

Could we possibly get a dedicated white balance picker in the corona frame buffer?
And Secondly could Bitmap/Texture Compression be Implemented just like how it works in Gpu renderers. Out of core is not really a compression method. Thanks
