[Max] I need help! / Re: Denoising takes too long in my PC

What is 1-70 and 71-75? Is it animation frames, or maybe denoising amount? What denoiser you are using? What resolution images you are typically denoising that takes very long? And how exactly long is that too long? Are we talking about seconds, minutes, hours here? Do you have enough RAM? What about other hardware (CPU, GPU model)? Be more specific if you want to get actual help and not just wild guesses.

[Max] I need help! / Denoising takes too long in my PC

Hi, I was wondering why my PC takes too much time to finish Denoising, it always denoise 1-70 very fast but in 71-75 takes a lot of time, the same scene doesnt take this much time to denoise in another machines. Could it be my HDD? My hardware is better in my PC than the others.

[Max] Bug Reporting / Re: Backplate + Sun causing shadow bug

Ran into this bug again today, and what's interesting is that in Ludwik Koutny's tutorial "Common User Mistakes" he talks about the importance of using Corona Light Material for backplates and turning off "Emit Light." He left all the other options active (also "visible in reflections"), and there’s no bug in his scene.

@maru  what do you think about this ?

Hi everyone.

Wanted to picked this back up again please.

We are currently working on a big project with a house and a skyline blackplate.

The backplate is sitting on a light material, with emit light unchecked, The scene is lit with sun and sky,

The backplate is semi blocking the sun shadows, if we unhide it to just see the corona sky the shadows are great. I have read the above post and for a work around I have unticked "visable in reflections"

Im getting a better result, but I assume there hasn't been any further developments on getting this fixed? Its a real shame because we are loosing alot of reflectivity in the glass of the builiding.
Maybe you can get around that by using the backplate image in the 'Direct Visivility Override' slot in Corona's render dialog (and in the Refractions override if needed, too). That way you wouldn't need any plane with a LightMtl, maybe it helps in your case. (Of course, it doesn't solve the original problem discussed in the thread...)

Most studios I worked in use uncommon drive letters, so everyone would map Google Drive to X:\

Hi everyone,
We’re facing a challenge with file linking in Cinema 4D & Corona Renderer while working remotely across multiple workstations. Our assets are stored on Google Drive, but we’re struggling with inconsistent file paths when opening scenes on different machines.
The Problem:
When a scene is created on one computer (e.g., PC A), it cannot find assets when opened on another computer (e.g., PC B) because the file paths differ.

Example of Different Paths:
PC A: Google Drive is installed on G:\, so the asset path is:
G:\Shared Drives\03_Projects\C4D\04_Chaos Cosmos\Packages\3D_Models\Vegetation\Paper_Birch_002_Spring_eab24e7f\eab24e7f_3dh_Paper_Birch_002_Spring.vrmesh

PC B: Google Drive is installed on E:\, so the asset path is:
E:\Google Drive\Shared Drives\03_Projects\C4D\04_Chaos Cosmos\Packages\3D_Models\Vegetation\Paper_Birch_002_Spring_eab24e7f\eab24e7f_3dh_Paper_Birch_002_Spring.vrmesh

The Question:
How can we standardise asset paths so the scene works across all computers without requiring manual relinking each time?
We’re particularly interested in how other remote teams have tackled this issue. What approaches have worked best for you? Are there any software- or hardware-based solutions you’ve found effective in ensuring seamless file access across multiple workstations?
Our current team consists of three people, with a planned expansion to five this year. We’re looking for a scalable solution that will prevent asset-linking issues as our team grows.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Hello there,

Good and bad news :

Good one : disabling EXPO did solved the lag problem, al least for this first hour testing.

Bad news : my ram is now working at 4800 instead of 6000...

Slower, but not freezing, the overall is a good news !

Next step is to go back in BIOS, set manually the latencies, and check again... I'll try to find time for that today.

Best regards.
