Any updates on the texture bug with the standalone yet?

Awesome! I've been away for a week and now that I'm back with my files I'll check out the new version too :) Thanks!

@blanchg - just signed up for Patreon.

@Ondra, I think this plugin needs more support to get the word out. Lots of people just don't know about it. Maybe Corona could be added to the website? The more support blanchg gets, the more he can release great updates for the Blender community :)

Should also consider Blender Market or similar sites.

Thanks Blanchg

On #3 - can you PM me an email address to send it to? I'd rather do it that way.

#4 - the lightmix is inside the VFB. When I play with lights they don't seem to change. I will try to add some more and test, but just wanted to let you know. If it's working for you then I must be doing something wrong :)

Here are the issues I've found so far:

1) Texture error (same as Binke mentioned above)
2) Cannot save VFB images in the standalone to do any A/B comparisons - every time you render it disappears...Any way to get that going?
3) Files I'm importing from Sketchup into Blender for a final render seem to just not work even after I completely retexture. I'm guessing this is because of loose or bad geometry, because it just renders nothing. Is there any way in the future to improve this or maybe integrate better with the Standalone so that this does not happen? It seems to break easily on any model that uses windows or complex geometry...or maybe it's just me. It's possible I'm doing something wrong.
4) Lightmix changes don't seem to affect the lights in the scene.

@burnin - that's what I thought. That makes sense. Blanchg kept referring to a Mac version, so I was making sure I wasn't missing something.

I'm not getting the Mac version. Is there a download for Mac? The last one is see is from 2016. The universal download is .exe only.

Looking forward to trying this tomorrow. I also have a SketchUp Model I was trying to get working as an import but it won't render (only works in Cycles), so it could be messy geometry. I'll see if it works in the new version.

By the way blanchg, I also run a dual boot iMac 2017, so I can test both environments. Let me know if there's anything specific you want me to help test as well.

Thanks burnin. I see now that other people have asked the same thing. I asked this in the main forum because I was hoping to get visibility and ideas outside of the regular Blender group. My post was moved. All good.

I’m trying Blender and the Corona standalone. Can’t get great final results because only simple bump maps seem to work and not displacement or normal maps. Is this working in the latest standalone or in the future? Any suggestions? I like working in Blender much more than 3DS Max.

Oh I see, so I make it less white. I’ll try that thanks! I tried to adjust in the light mix too in the standalone and that didn’t seem to have an effect. Maybe that’s why.

You're the best!!! One more thing and then I promise I'll let you get onto your good work:

I noticed that I have no control over the strength of my sun. I am only able to control it via highlight compression. When I look at Chocofur's tutorials it seems to show an "energy multiplier", which I assume was to control this...but I might be wrong.

I'm assuming there's no way right now to tie the sun position to the HDR rotation, but seems like an easy fix to be able to control the sun brightness again so thought I'd mention it. The size multiplier only effects the shadow softness, not the light intensity itself.

Thanks again guys and any suggestions are appreciated!

Guys - I have a paid Corona license as a 3DS Max plugin, but I have a different Corona version downloaded to work in this plugin for Blender (Build 2017-01-17) since the latest one doesn't work. I thought that it was using my paid license, but when I looked at the system console it says I'm using a "demo" which I'm assuming will expire? How do we connect this plugin with FairSaaS? I can't find any information here?

Sorry to sound like a broken record, but thanks from me too! Thanks for supporting further development of this great plugin so that we can continue to use the amazing Corona renderer :) Let us know how we can help further, as I'm sure the whole Blender community would be highly interested in this.

I would also definitely send them a quick email simply asking for a license to support your development. It makes sense for them to provide this because it opens a whole new platform for them. I really hope we're able to get you back on board!

I agree. I would support this financially as well. It was going so well and you had developed one of the most promising extensions for Blender there is. It's so close to working...Corona is SO good, that even a professional renderer who I know personally that charges high prices to architecture firms uses it and switched from V-Ray. It's blazing fast and I'm sorry but Cycles is usually painfully slow, grainy for most cases, and is the main reason that I keep getting away from Blender. Blender itself is great, but without people developing dependable stuff like this, it won't work for me. Corona is a very special rendering engine. I really hope we can help to further this.

The extension is no longer usable to me, as I also get errors every time I upload any texture of any kind. It says it can't find the texture.
