If you run it, it will stay active for this session when opening a scene(!). Throw it into your startup scripts directory to be sure to have it active permanently. It's the "Romullus edition" with deactivated confirmation boxes, but you should see output in the maxscript listener.
And yes, a very high amount of downloaded "asset" scenes have those anim layers meanwhile. They are global tracks and stack with every merged object, leading to thousands of those layers in a scene. Manual check: Open curve editor, change to dope sheet ("Editor"->"Dope Sheet") and expand "Anim Layer Control Manager" -> "Anim Layers", see screenshot.
BTW: Check the normals of Box001 and apply a shell modifier to avoid possible "light leak" effects. And disable exposure control in Environment and effects, you don't need this using Corona (and CoronaCamera).
