Thanks Maru.
I see a problem with this: Let's say I have a rectangle and I want it to emit more light in the center than on the sides with a gradient, but still be completely solid (no transparency). At the same time I don't want it to cast shadows.
It used to be easy with a gradient in color and turning "occlude" off. But now I can't.

[Max] Feature Requests / Re: The most wanted feature?

Aren't there more possible features to choose from? I kind of feel that there were several interesting requests in "feature requests".

Please, consider this for the next version.
Using controls per camera doesn't really work the same way as the VFB.
Thanks.

With corona light the same behavior, even more with occlude other lights off it lights brighter

Not sure I understand. So is this a bug or normal behavior?

Hi all,

Is this the correct behavior for "color" in Corona light material when "occlude other lights" is off?
I could swear that color was only affecting color and intensity, not opacity, in previous versions.

So, what you're seeing in this image is a gray color for "color". As you can see the sample turns transparent.

It seems I'm having a similar problem. see attached please.

It's just a box with a chamfer modifier. Smooth: "smoothing chamfer only"

I'm thinking on getting the 3950x to install it as a replacement of the 1800x.
I've never done something like that (upgrade of a processor only).

Do you guys see any disadvantage of doing that other than not having PCI 4?

Here too. Very happy with Corona 5 so far.
Thanks!

EDIT: I saw the same benefits as Juraj. Never tried caustics though. So can't comment on that.

Hi Twoheads.
Did you end up buying a monitor? If so, which one and what's your experience with it and Max 2016?

Thanks.

596
Ah. Perfect! Thanks.

With a standard bitmap node I can use a float to control both U and V offsets of a map.
Is that possible with coronaBitmap?
Please, see attached.

Thanks.

Got it! Thank you everyone.

Thanks.

To be honest I don't see much difference between your video and mine once you disabled subsampling, other than probably you're using a faster computer.

I updated Forest and railclone and there's no difference.
Windows is up to date.
Using Max without AnyDesk is the same.

I have been testing your scene which you sent through to us. I have not been able to reproduce the slowdowns which were shown in the video you posted

Rowan,

Are you saying that when you remove subsampling you don't have the delay that I have on the same scene?
What computer are you using?
Are you doing a comparison with Corona 1.5? Or just testing Corona 4/5?
Could you send a video capture to show me how it's supposed to be working without the slowdown?

Thanks.
