Title: Exclude object from motion blur
Post by: ParticleSkull on 2016-06-02, 21:06:20
Hey guys,

Since Corona can't render motion blur on deforming objects, is it possible to generate motion blur for the other objects ignoring those deforming ones?

Thx,
Alvaro

This should work on deforming objects, if you disable Multithreaded parsing (with Multithreaded on, and geometry motion blur enabled, Max will freeze - also if you add a Velocity render element too)

Using Skin or Skin wrap modifiers may lead to crashes in certain circumstances - for example when using motion blur.
Solution: disable "Multithreaded parsing" in Render Setup > Performance > Development/Experimental stuff
"

Let me know if that gets the motion blur working in your scene!

What you are describing should happen by default. Even motion blur on deforming objects with changing topology should be rendered, but just transformational one, meaning motion blur from movement, rotation, scale, or camera movement.

Actually, Corona can render motion blur on deforming objects just fine, as long as topology doesn't change during transformation, which happens on liquid simulations for example. But as long as you use simple deformation, like for example noise or bend modifier, motion blur of the actual topology will render just fine ;)

Oh, and of course, you do not need to disable multithreaded parsing or anything like that for it to work. You should do that only if you get parsing crashes and you specifically use skin or skin wrap modifier.

the skin crash bug was fixed already in 1.4 AFAIK
