Title: Simple night exterior
Post by: tomislavn on 2014-07-07, 15:24:30
Could anyone share some simple corona setup for night exterior shots? :) Thank you!

Lightning example is attached - James Pickford’s Lake Lugano house

Why don't you write to the author himself ?

But everything you need has been published: It's combination of HDRi (Dusk- 1957 from PeterGuthrie) and IES spotlights in interior.

The rest is careful balance of internal color temperature, intensities and nice post.

Everything is about the balance between outside and inside. If you can make it from head, that's pretty nice feat, if not, a photograph of dusk/night helps.

Thank you for your reply Juraj. I had no need to write to the author himself, since he used V-Ray. I know how to get that "temperature" effect in V-Ray balancing the V-Ray camera settings and the HDR image (I got PG's collection).

Just wondered if someone wanted to share some bits about getting the similar effect using Corona :) since I haven't tried to remake it myself - yet.

But there is no difference at all, should be absolutely identical.

Mine examples aren't so pretty, there aren't so many angular glass parts to reflect, but same setup. Just one HDRi (PG+CGSource mixed together) and only IES inside. Corona Alpha5.

Thank you once again for valuable information Juraj :) I appreciate it! Will definitely give it a shot tonight. And by the way, your renders are great as well!

(PG+CGSource mixed together)

Sorry I feel stupid to ask this but could you explain, HDRI: PG+CGSource mixed together?

pg is probably peter guthrie

Yes, this. Sorry for the abreviation, Peter is such a name that I often just assume people would get the reference :- ).
I mix his(or other) HDRi so I can get full spherical coverage.
