[C4D] General Discussion / Is IR Parsing speedup for C4D coming?

Hey,

I was doing backflips when I heard this improvement was coming with 12v2
My disappointment couldn't have been bigger when I realised only for Max.
Are there plans on this? I spend 1 or 2 hours daily waiting for parsing of scatters and such.

[C4D] I need help! / control shadow

hey

is there a way to control the shadow of an object.

I want to have a tree not to throw a shadow on the ground.

By using a comp tag I can solve it, but then there is now selfshadowing.

Is there any way to exclude certain objects from catching a shadow or something?

hey,

i'm having troubles with the scatter tool.
whereas the scale slider works as expected the density parameter does not change anything.

as i understand it is supposed to reduce the number of scattered instances between the near and far distance. (just like the scale parameter does this with the scaling)

this feature would be really helpful since i want to reduce number of scattered leaves according to the distance form the spline.

[C4D] Bug Reporting / Corona 10 very low render performance

Hi,

just upgraded to 10. So far everything was fine. Just IR seemed to be rendering quite slow.

Then trying to render final in 4K. After 5h only 3 passes!!! 17K Rays/sample average!!!
Not very compex scene.

To track the reasons I tried a very simple test scene. Two cubes and Corona Sky/Sun.
500 Rays/sample in IR
Then downgraded to Corona 9. Same scene 100 Rays/sample only.

So something is wrong here I think and I will probably continue with CR9.

Any Ideas?

[C4D] Bug Reporting / Tonemapping not updating in IR when camera tag beeing changed

Hey there,

we use a stage tag alot to render a set of single still cameras. also in IR we go through the several cams by changing the frame in the timeline.
In older Corona Versions the camera tag  (tonemapping) could be changed and the changes were visible in th IR immediately. Now it need a restart the IR every time. super annoying when having to adjust 10 cameras consecutevly :(
unfortunately in the framebuffer the tonemapping is always connected to the camera that it was started with. this has always been this way. but now the workaround through the tag is not working aswell.
why is the tonemapping tool getting so complicated anyway? can annyone tell me why its better to have different tonemaps saved instead of just duplicating the camera an changing the tag?

[C4D] I need help! / multishader randomize each tile of a texture

hey everyone,

i was wondering if there is a way how to use the very powerful functionality of the multishader on the tiles of a material.
similar as with the uvw randomizer.
let's say you have a texture of one single concrete tile and you want to rotate it randomly and als slightly change color/reflexion of each tile.
rotating and flipping is no problem with uvw randomizer. but how can i change the gamma or something randomly? the multishader does not provide this option.

[C4D] I need help! / anisotropy without bending

hey everyone,

I need to create a reflective material with kind of stretched blurry reflection.
Somehow it is always bent circular or in a S curve. How can I get it straight to fit with the zig zag sheet metal I'm aplying it to.
I also tried it with bump instead of anisotropy, but it does not look the way it should.

The material I used is very simple. Physical material, Roughness 10%, Anisotropy -0,5. Thats it.
Can someone help me to get these reflections straight pleeeeze ;)

[C4D] I need help! / Remove Render Region

Hey,

I'm pretty sure someone has already asked this before. Unfortunately i couldn't find it thou :)

Problem:
Im rendering several cameras of one scene using a stage object. During test rendering I use Regions a lot as you can imagine.
Somehow Regions are saved per Camera/Frame. Which is a good thing in general, but! When I want to render the whole series in high quality and full Frame it happens often that there was a Region in some frame not turned off. So after a night rendering I find only the region being rendered in the morning. That issue already got me severeal times into time trouble. Disable or Remove All only works for the current frame. And starting all 10 frames with an prepass time of 5min each to see if there are regions on is not an option as you can imagine.

Question:
Is there a way to turn of the Regions for all frames before starting to render? Or is there a way to see if there are regions still active in any frame/camera?
