I just tried that on a tiny project and it worked!  Now I'm going to set my larger project up like that.  Thank you so much.  I didn't see how I could progress with not being able to see things.  Now the environment looks normal.  Works like a charm.

Can I turn all of the lights off at one time with that selection object??  (I have limited knowledge of Cinema4D, using it to import SketchUp models and render in Corona).  Thanks!

33
That sounds like a good idea.  I"ll have to learn that.   Thanks.

It would be a long task to turn each of 30 lights off and on each time I model and then do a quick rendering.  The black area or white area of the Corona light takes over the the scene and ends up I can't distinguish between parts of the model.  This doesn't happen with the Cinema4D lights, which act normally and don't blow out the scene with black or white while in modeling mode.

When I am in Cinema4D modeling mode, the Corona lights I have placed (horizontally) turn that scene all white and black, so I can’t see what I’m doing.  Is there a way to get rid of all of that black and white indication so I can see the parts of the model?  I turned all of the lights off individually once, except for the sky I think, and then it looked normally colored and I could distinguish between parts of the model while editing.  Is there a way to do that quickly or another mode I should choose??  I have attached screen shots below.  Thank you.

Very new to Cinema4D/Corona.  Comparing Cinema4D to SketchUp "scenes.." In Sketchup I could make a scene, then go in and move around the scene, orbit, etc, do some work, but then push that scene and it would return to the view I had set originally.  But with Cinema4D, when I move around and then try to get back to the original camera view, it doesn't remember it, doesn't go back to the original camera view.  Don't remember this kind of problem with Autocad or Revit either, but it's been a while.

I do understand why Corona development discontinued it.
Never seen a more horrible soft that Sketchup.

Im a Sketchup user and import in to C4D. Its annoying having to go from one program to the next but .obj works well. C4D gives you more scope for adding high poly objects and animation capabilities.

After being in involved in the Corona SketchUp beta testing and having to give up on that, I have been using Vray with SketchUp for about a year and a half.  I saw some Cinema 4D/Corona renderings recently on CGArchitect that looked great.  So it's good to see this note of yours where you say you import your SketchUp into Cinema.  Maybe I will try that.

I wish Corona Render would again consider developing an extension for SketchUp.  After being in involved in the Corona/SketchUp beta testing, I have been using Vray for a year and a half now, and it's alright, but Corona Render seemed to have more potential.  I recently saw Cinema 4d/Corona architectural and interior architectural renderings on CGArchitect and they look great.  But would like to stick with SketchUp.

Patreze:

What you wrote above were my sentiments exactly – about an interior light material and about Vray.   I think waiting for this plug-in has already taken up too much time in my life. It made other SketchUp plugins seem poor in comparison and now I feel like I'm in limbo.  Vray is the most obvious alternative, but that seems like going backwards somehow.  I really don't know where to turn.

I agree, would love to have a Corona light material!  Also agree about Vray...

43
Anything you can say about the status of the Corona for SketchUp plug-in?  Will it definitely be developed eventually??  Thank you.

44
I wish there were a way a Corona light material could be added to the last release.  That would keep me busy for months.  Probably not possible but just thought I'd ask.

I'm really enjoying using this program.  I'm doing the same thing I always do, making the same effort, certainly that I did with Maxwell, but it looks BETTER.
