Title: Light Linking
Post by: mitchino on 2019-09-12, 15:05:22
Just been doing a proper job for the first time using Corona, a packaging render. Been thinking what a great renderer, but I'm doing lots of little lighting tweaks and it seems there is no light linking or include exclude functionality - is that right? I can't have a light illuminating one object but not others in the scene? Total non-starter for my line of work if that's the case.

When you create a corona-light, there should be an Include/Exclude option...

Yes - include/exclude works exactly the same as native Cinema lights.  There is also an include/exclude tab for luminous materials as well.

Also take a look at Lightmix where you can change and tweak all your levels and color after you have rendered:

Ah you're right it does work. I think I may have been trying to use it with a polygon object using a Corona Light Material - that doesn't work with include/exclude does it?

What I need is to have a light with a texture or gradient on it, and have that only include certain objects - is that possible?

Yes - can be done - see attached.
