Hi!
When I plug textures with triplanar projection into a layer shader and try to use the resulting texture as a bump map, it doesn't work - the bump doesn't show up. The triplanar + layer shader combo works fine in other channels, only bump seems to be affected.
I'm on Win 10, C4D R18, Corona Beta 2 stable.

Cheers

Hi,
for modeling tasks it would be quite handy if XRay display mode worked with Corona materials. Maybe I'm missing something but it seems that only objects with native mats can have XRay enabled.

EDIT: It's actually not that important because turning textures off (N~Q) is a quick'n'easy way around.

Cheers,
Szymon

Hello,
Not important at all, but I think it would be a nice touch if new Corona materials were automatically added to the active layer, just like native C4D mats do, instead of landing under "No Layer".

As a side note, I've just noticed that new native materials are automatically assigned to the active layer only when there are 2 or more layers in the scene (at least in my R18 Prime), which is quite interesting (no big deal since this feature only makes sense when one needs to cope with huge amounts of materials and layers).

Best,
Szymon

Wow the model looks perfect, and the HDRI you've chosen suits it wonderfully. Great project.

Thank you for looking into this Eddoron, much appreciated!
But have you tried using some texture as a shadow catcher's reflection map? That's where I've seen the problem - assuming that I'd want to create a reflection map based on my backplate, I'd expect it to be positioned and oriented precisely like the backplate, while it clearly was oriented upside down.
I said was because I got it straight now and the solution was embarrassingly simple - changing shadow catcher's texture tag projection to Frontal (previously UVW). I'm not sure why I assumed that ticking "matte projection mode" would do all the work for me... :) So sorry for the false alarm.

Thank you again Eddoron

Hello,
light material's include / exclude options don't work in Beta 1 RC 2 . Corona lights work fine - only light material is affected.

Hello,
I'd greatly appreciate if someone could verify if Shadow Catcher Reflection's matte projection mode works as expected. To me it seems that when we use the backplate as the reflection map (apparently useful for environments with puddles and other non-uniform floor reflections), it's upside down. Please take a look at the print screen below. The reflection map works - brighter portions of the backplate generate stronger reflections, but it's flipped vertically.
It may be me using matte projection mode the wrong way - please correct me if that's the case.

Lighting and shading are totally stunning, some of the best I've seen.

[C4D] Resolved Bugs / Shadow catcher reflections flipped?
« on: 2018-01-07, 20:49:36 »
Hi,
I might be misunderstanding the point of matte projection mode, but at a first glance the reflection map (in this case same as the backplate image) is flipped vertically - please see the attached print screen. Hope I'm not missing something obvious here.

Best,
Dolain

Edit: Forgot to mention that report refers to Beta 1 RC1.

Hello all!
What are the chances of bringing dome mapping to Corona for C4D?

[C4D] Resolved Bugs / Particles + Motion Blur crash
« on: 2018-01-02, 18:17:14 »
Hello,
I think I found a bug in Beta RC1 - in a scene containing animated particles, motion blur with "Enable objects" on makes C4D crash after hitting "Render", both final and IR. Or am I making some silly mistake?
Simple example scene attached.

But overall the experience with RC1 is very positive - thanks a lot for your hard work!

Best regards

Hi,
I guess (somebody correct me if I'm wrong) this is normal - it's just the way Corona mats are represented in the viewport currently. Until we get better viewport materials, there are some workarounds that can help us see what's going on in the scene a bit better:
1) Create temporary material overrides: https://vimeo.com/66188232
2) Assign C4D native materials in a separate take (and use this take for modelling)
3) Toggle texture display (N~Q)
4) Get HB Modelling Bundle - it makes creating viewport material overrides a bit easier/faster
5) For all glass objects, use Display Tags and switch on "Lines" shading mode

Any other ideas people?

Have a great New Year:)

Cheers
