New to Corona here and liking it so far.
One simple thing I can't for the life of me get to work properly is 2D cutouts, like of people and what-nots.
It seems to mirror the material on both sides of my zero width box.
Have tried backface culling to no avail, turned off "show map on back" and that didn't work..
With scanline or mentalray it was simply a bitmap in the diffuse slot, an alpha map in the opacity slot, slap it on the zero width box, and done.
Any thoughts on what I'm not doing that I should be doing?  Or does Corona just not work that way..

Can't you just use a plane instead of a box?

hmm.  I guess it just never crossed my mind?!?  Have always just used a box with zero width - which in my mind was essentially a plane, but I guess not..  Using a plane totally solved my problem!
Thanks for the thought/suggestion, I knew it would be something simple..  I can be a real dummy sometimes!
