Thanks Stefan! :)

Hopefully everyone is enjoying the various pieces of birthday content (and entering the contest for a chance to win unique swag! https://www.chaos.com/corona-birthday-challenge if you didn't know!), and there's more to come on that such as a history video I put together, and a what we are planning for 2025 video I put together (though this got delayed, so I have gone ahead and updated the Trello roadmaps today rather than wait any longer - the video is due out on the actual birthday, the 25th of this month so in just under a week). Oh yes, and some Q&A videos I made as we asked you to send in questions!

And hopefully a few folks can pop by this thread and leave their birthday messages, now that Stefan has got the ball rolling!

Happy Birthday indeed!

I'm in the advertising world and not the usual archvis person that uses Corona. I did a deep dive on render engines a few years back. Being on a Mac, I didn't have a lot of choices for a CPU engine. C4D's Physical engine wasn't good enough any more and their failed Pro Render was soooooo slow. Corona blew it away. The only one that came close to Corona in ease of use and quality was Arnold, only one render node though. Boo. Corona was faster to set up and much faster to render. Plus I could run it on almost any machine without having to worry about a massive GPU card. So I jumped in with Corona Alpha and haven't looked back since. I don't use it as often as I'd like, but love it when I do and I only use a fraction of it's power. It has become very stable for me. I especially enjoy working in Real Time Viewport mode so I can just click on an object to adjust, all in one window. Keep the improvements coming!

About the contest, can you enter more than once with a different render for each?

You can a) register via email (one chance of winning), b) take part in Challenge one as defined in the terms and conditions, which is submitting your favorite / best Chaos Software project for another chance, and c) submit for challenge 2, sharing a birthday specific rendering for a third chance.

As far as I am aware, you could submit multiple images for each category, though this doesn't let you "win twice" (so if one image is picked as a winner for, say, the birthday render, any other birthday renders you also sent in would then be ignored). Don't go crazy and submit your whole portfolio though :) But if you have 3 or 4 images which you think are your best, and can't choose between them to pick just one to send in, afaik that is fine. You can always submit a ticket via https://support.chaos.com/requests/new to ask, so that the question gets direct to the folks who oversee processing the entries, just to be sure!

Thanks Corona!  You've been a huge part of my career for the last 10 years and help keep a roof over our heads and children fed.  We really appreciate everything that you do.  Still my favorite render engine of them all!

I also wanted to put in a request for Tom to fire up one or more of those guitars sitting behind you in all your videos. Perhaps a birthday tune of some sort?
Studded outfit? Big hair? Women swooning perhaps?

Hahah, sounds very 80s hair metal - perfect! As an aside, I did play the guitars in the 10 years Story So Far video at
, where the little tune at 25 seconds that plays under the 10 years spotlights animation was one I wrote and recorded, as I figured people might want to HEAR them once in a while haha!
