Hardware / Virtual Machines In Servers - POWEREDGE 2900

I just got one of these:

And I am trying to figure out what to do with it. I dont have any experience with servers or making Virtual machines. The server is DELL POWEREDGE 2900 with a Xeon 5120 Woodcrest 1.82Ghz, dual socket with Virtualization Technology.

Is capable of working as Virtual machines to make a RENDERFARM?

I Modeled the Mesa table by Zaha Hadid and followed the modeling procedure from Austris Cingulis of Viscorbel and also used Alieneye's paint.

Can you make it so that I can map a IES file in the material editor flot. It would be cool to make your material glows have ies properties.
