Same here, replicated the same issue. Cubic projection seems to create some weird issues with the normal map. ( like sharp wide edges )
Maybe this a C4d issue though. In any case good to know cause I don't think you can notice if you are not looking for it.

I noticed this as well. Had to enable Flip Y in my normal shader...
