hello
I am statib, I am a new user
I'm trying to use crown render, as an engine for virtual sets and interiors

I'm trying to create a material for mosaic iridescent and I would like some advice, in particular how to structure the material on crown

this is the effect that I would get

ps: sorry for my english :)

Most simple way I can think of is to use falloff map in reflection's colour slot. But this gives you only a two-colour gradient. Making a rainbow-like reflection would require an awkward set of falloff maps.

Found a better solution:

In material's reflection colour slot add a CoronaColorMapper map. Then inside of it, as input map, add a standard black and white falloff map. Inside CoronaColorMapper map you can change colours of your gradient.

Keymaster, I'm not sure who was your post addressed to, but I'd rather leave it to Statib as my material was a really quick and dirty setup.

Not bad but I think you should leave the Falloff map in reflection slot and load your bitmap as BUMP MAP!

In this case, the pieces are molded, why not just a relief map, but you should use a displacement map (but the render time would be much higher), I decided to model the tiles to give the effect of irregularities.

I tried the image map, because the falloff, so the effect distributes them too regular.
see how in the first picture seems to create a rainbow effect.
however we still will put hand, I think it can be better

Here's a quick test. You are right, it's best to set a separate map besides falloff. I used procedural noise. I like the effect with very grainy map, looks like oxidized metal.

Pardon, but I do not seem to be able to locate CoronaColorMapper. I'm using v6. Can somebody point out my fault?
