Just finished my APC model. I plan to do some CG environment and animation with it soon. These are few stills with HDRI and backplates from www.hdrmaps.com. It was sort of a GGX test (which frankly seems to make no difference, at least in this scene).

I just recklessly threw Dune Harkonnen trooper in one of the shots to give some sense of scale :D

Here we go:

Really not bad, but IMHO something doesn't work. I mean I "feel" it is a render. There's a big difference between hdri and 3d model grain, that's very usual in this kind of pictures, try to use more blur in texture (or low resolution maps, similar  to the final resolution of the hdri part you can see in the picture) or/and a different AA setting. It is not part of the background, I know you can do it better ;)

And, of course, ......Grate workz!!! Congratz!!!! ;)

Edit: maybe a little dof...

The shot with soldier looks pretty awesome!

I'm quite curious how long it took "raw working hours" to do this (modeling+textures)?
Also would like to see some detail wireframe screens if you don't mind :)

illoks not bad, but i feel the rednering too. it looks to sharp. maybe you can add more sand or mud on the wheels and to the apc. it looks to clean for me.

your work is perfect in my opinion.... but honestly, some sand or dirt is most essential on those tires :)

The shot with the soldier running along side is gold.  I also like how you added the tracks in the sand.  Excellent work.

Thanks all

It has about 800 000 polys

If i do a rough estimate, i think i have put about 24 raw working hours to it, including rendertimes. I will probably get better and faster at it, if i practice hard surface modeling more :)

Here's wireframe. I know topology is a bit messy, but since i wanna do sort of 3D concept art, i do not want to constrain myself with topological rules, and instead use 3D as sort of sketching tool. As long as renderer renders it fine, and i am confident the geometry will not have to be skinned and deformed, i think it's not much of a problem:

Maru: Yeah...  Czech army has ordered 40 of these immediately when they panicked about Ukraine crisis ;)

And as for the close ups, the vehicle wasn't really built for them. It was build just to endure as an object of interest in FullHD frame, but not much of an eye candy from up close. Military vehicles are kinda boring from up close anyways. It's mostly large flat pieces of metal with some hatches, hinges and bolts. I tried to do some closeup, but i stopped, as they really didn't look that interesting :)
