Please try below solution in order to fix it:
as the first steps, please try:
1. Temporarily disabling any antivirus you are using and then
2. Make sure that you are not running the Corona 8 installer from a network location. Simply copy it into a local folder (for example C: drive) and then run it.
If the above solution does not help:
I am attaching to this message the Chaos Scatter files for Corona 8 that you would normally see after using the unpack option in the Corona 8 installer.
Please try installing Chaos Scatter manually:
- Install Corona 8 using the standard installation method (start the installer, select the standard installation option, proceed as usual)
- Unpack the archive I sent to you, go to the resulting folder and then navigate to Chaos Corona\Chaos Group\
- Copy the whole "Scatter" folder into C:\Program Files\Chaos Group (so the resulting path will be C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\Scatter)
- In the folder I sent to you, navigate to \Chaos Corona\Autodesk
- Go into the folder with the name of your 3ds Max version (e.g. if you are using 3ds Max 2022 go to the folder \Chaos Corona\Autodesk\3ds Max 2022)
- Copy the content of this folder ("plugins" and "UI_ln" folders)
- Go to your 3ds Max installation folder (e.g. in case of 3ds Max 2022 the default folder is C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2022)
- Paste the folders "plugins" and "UI_ln" into your 3ds Max folder (so the "plugins" and "UI_ln" have to be pasted into C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2022)
