I am at the stage where i have no clue how to optimize my sampling/speed accuracy balance for my animation in cinema 4d.

what i think so far is that i will render a frame and see how many passes i need, then put a pass limit and then just have tıff sequences rendering away...

Well, sampling settings depend on the kind of scene you have. So please tell us more about your scene, preferably post some pictures.
