Gallery / Tuscany countryside farmhouse
« on: 2023-10-23, 13:21:11 »
Hi everybody, I wanted to share with you this personal project i made when me and my girlfriend were looking for a land where to build our house. (ok, the pool was just a dream, we're not so rich)
We live in Tuscany countryside, so I tried to represent the typical farmhouse in its typical environment.
hope you like them and comments and suggestions are welcome! don't be so rude.
(Cinema 4D & Corona Renderer)

edit: i fixed the pictures because they were too dark (my monitor was set too bright and now i fixed it)

[C4D] Daily Builds / Re: Scatter edge trimming shader

It depends on where the pivot point is for that sub-object - if it is inside the scatter area, it still gets displayed, which means for a long thin branch it can still stick out beyond the scatter area. Your example is an ideal case for using a Slicer object though, to achieve what you want (things not sticking through a wall), shouldn't even need the new edge trimming.

Thank you Tom!!!

hi guys, thanks for the great feature, really appreciated.
i was testing it on a shrub close to a wall. i understand how it works, i scattered it on a plane limited in a spline rectangle. put the trim shader on every model's material but some branches are still not trimmed. what i'm doing wrong?

[C4D] Daily Builds / Re: displacement issue
« on: 2021-12-06, 10:52:07 »
ok, i understand now how it works even it would be better if the shifting would starts more close to the edges instead starting from the center of the polygon. many thanks for the answer!!

[C4D] Daily Builds / displacement issue
« on: 2021-12-05, 13:38:48 »
on the latest daily build (v8 03-12-2021) i noticed this thing and i'm gonna ask you if is a bug or not.
basically on a simple cube i added a noise map (with contrast cranked up) as displacement, cubic projection, and the displaced part close to the edges seems "shifted". shouldn't be straight? i know my english is not good, so i added an image to show you what i'm trying to explain.
if is not a bug, sorry for my stupid question.
thank you

yeah, i noticed the same. i reinstalled the previous version

got a cinema4d r19 freeze when using native render region with the latest build. anyone?

Hi eliraisawhale!

It works for me. Could you provide some more information? Does it freeze C4D or does it downright crash?

Hi, had c4d freezing only on that project, nothing wrong on a new one. sorry for the post! ;)

Hi there, does it also freeze when using Cinema's default renderer?

hi houska & beanzvision, i was out of office for a couple of days so tonight i'm gonna try if it crashes with cinema's default render and with another project, but it is so unusual, it always worked since corona beta 2

i don't know if it is an already know issue but got a bug regarding bloom/glare effect. it won't effect while rendering and all i can see is a loading bar growing up and refreshing in loop.
(r19 on windows)

hi guys,
any plans on adding render region feature when rendering with a spherical camera?

12
i got an issue regarding rendering stats: no more continually update, gotta switch between post/stats sections to have statistics update.

Any further memory optimization update...?
In a small studio setup scene... getting error message and no displacement used.

Thanks.
...

Sorry to say this but if its using 32GB of RAM it doesn't look like a small studio scene to me :) Are you using a ton of displacement and a super high poly CAD object perhaps?

No cad objects. 78 objects of Lego cubes making a shape and 5 simple materials (attached) with 1 hdri and 2 lights.....!
iMac have max 32gb ram.

...

guess your problem is texture size. are they 8k or more?

@beanzvision
I am going to go ahead and presume a little bit here as I think this was listed as a feature request a while ago...

We already have material overrides, pretty much exactly like in 3ds Max. That said, I think there are a few of us out there that would like at a material override that can also take in a material not just objects.

Having it like V-Ray where you control it in the material editor is similar to that idea with the difference being that the button for the override is located under the material editor instead of the render settings.

I think that if UI clutter is an issue (_I definitely don't want to clutter it as simplicity is Coronas strength_) a good solution could be to "just add" an option whether you drag the materials or objects into the existing material override window.

Hopefully that makes sense. :P

exactly this!

can i ask for a feature? coming from vray, i used to set the scene lights with a 70% white material override on every scene object. there's was an option in vray advanced material called "overridable" very useful in a workflow where you want set the materials one by one.
