For the 3 final version, there is a issue updating the preview of the material. I was hoping that this issue will be solved :(
I'm sending a video...
Thanks

I have a problem with the material preview on the objects (corona 4 Daily Build 2019-02-20). Once I modify the texture using a shader filter, the texture on the object disappears. It can only be retrieved again when I reload the texture into the diffuse channel.
This is inappropriate for me, this issue is from beta 2.
I have no information from Corona team!
Thanks

Hi Jakub, I assume you are talking about the viewport material previews. We are working on improving them and are actually very close to releasing a first version soon. But in general, do note that the current preferred Corona workflow is to use the Interactive Renderer for material preview.

Hi Cestmir,
no, I mean displaying the material on the assigned object in the scene.
When the material has a texture in the diffuse channel, the material is on some object, after editing this material is gray, the texture is lost in the view.  So I can't see where the wood, concrete, fabric, etc. are in the scene because all the objects are gray.

Hi there, I think it might be best if you could upload a sample scene for us if possible? https://corona-renderer.com/upload

Thx

Hi,

I sent a video. That's better than sample scene.

Thanks

Well, the example scene is generally better than a video, because then we can try to reproduce here and test fixes here to see if it has resolved it (if we can in fact see the same problem here), just as an fyi. With a video, if we don't have a scene that we can reproduce the issue, then any fixes have to be rolled out, you have to install, you have to test, and only then do we know whether the fix correct the issue ;)

Hi everyone! Sorry to revive this thread, but it seems that this issue still stands.

I am having trouble with the material preview as well. Standard C4D materials generally preview super accurately, but Corona materials go black or grey and make the scene difficult to navigate in many cases. Basically, anything more complicated than a diffuse material will render the incorrect color/shading. It would be helpful to not have to open another window (IPR, etc.) to see these materials while I am simply modifying the model. I like Corona because it makes rendering simple, but these material previews make the workflow more complicated when I am trying to achieve a particular effect. Rendering on the CPU always takes more time than the viewport preview, and many times I am simply trying to accurately place a material on a surface. If I have to render every time I want to adjust a material in a large scene, it is actually faster to use a C4D material first, make adjustments in the viewport, and then convert to Corona material. But this is not ideal, especially if I have to make a change after converting to Corona material. Then, I will have to create a C4D material again, find the appropriate texture, replace the Corona material, adjust the C4D material to my liking (or the client's liking!) and then replace again with the Corona material. This is many steps that should not be necessary in the workflow. It would be very helpful and save me a lot of time if Corona materials would preview more accurately.

Best,
Clayton
