Gallery / Macarons
« on: 2024-03-13, 15:37:48 »
Hi all,

Here is a new personal project of mine. I've been trying to improve my photogrammetry skills lately, especially trying to find a good workflow for smaller objects. I settled on scanning some macarons and here are the results.
I aimed to capture as much detail as possible and what better way to showcase that detail than rendering with Corona.:)

Gallery / Penthouse C Animation - Monolith in Motion
« on: 2023-07-24, 17:13:46 »
Hi everyone,

Introducing “Penthouse C: Monolith in Motion” a CGI film inspired by the timeless C Penthouse project by Vincent Van Duysen.

I started this project back in 2021 when I initially created some still images and had the idea to create an animation to further bring the space to life. Two years onwards I'm really pleased to have finally finished the piece after shelving the idea for so long.

The aim of the animation was to showcase the space in varying lighting conditions from dawn to dusk. Furthermore I wanted to explore as many ways as possible to add movement to each sequence in addition to the camera paths.

Hi all,

I was tasked with creating a set of images to promote Poliigon's small photoscanned food items. The concept was to attempt some photographic macro shots.

Gallery / Soft Minimal - Animation
« on: 2023-03-20, 11:23:03 »
This project was inspired by the PH House projects by Norm Architects. I've been a long time admirer of Norm Architects and I was waiting for the opportunity to attempt creating something in their style. I was tasked with creating some promotional renders and an animation for Poliigon's marble textures and I felt like this minimalist aesthetic would be the ideal backdrop.

Hello everyone,

I was once again tasked with making some food renders for Poliigon's latest release of photoscanned models. This time I tried to go for a lighter mood with the renders.

Hello everyone,

I was tasked with creating some promotional food renders for Poliigon's latest release of photoscanned models.

I tried to approach the project like a food stylist/photographer and used Lightroom for some colour grading. Tyflow was also used to create the food piles and water droplets.

Hello everyone,

Ever since I saw this kitchen by Diesel & Scavolini at the Salone del Mobile I decided I wanted to create a project revolved around it.

I was tasked by Poliigon to create a scene that could demonstrate the usage of their new photoscanned tableware and decided this would be the perfect opportunity to use the kitchen.

I was tasked by Poliigon to create a scene that could demonstrate the usage of their new photoscanned decorations and velvet assets.

I've seen a lot of interior design projects featuring pastel colours lately so I wanted to have a go at subtly incorporating pastel shades into the design.

I decided to continue working on the scene on my own personal time making a complete project out of it.

Here's a series of images that were heavily inspired by the project No Ordinary Apartment by Annabell Kutucu. I originally created the space for some promotional images I made for Poliigon's new decoration assets.
I decided to continue working on it on my own time and making a complete project out of it.

Here is a set of images I made based on Mernard's Dworkind's Hinterhouse Project. The aim of the project was to showcase Poliigon's new ground photoscans textures in an archviz environment but I decided to take the project further in my free time and experiment with some different lighting scenarios.

Hello Everyone,

I recently purchased a new workstation with an  AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X CPU.

In the task manager it's indicating only 85% CPU is being utilised but when I look at HWMonitor it says 100% whilst rendering. I'm just a little confused to why that is and what is the actual utilisation?

Any help would be appreciated!

Here are the rest of the specs of the workstation

-AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X  32x 3.7GHz
-MSI Creator TRX40 | AMD TRX40, E-ATX
-128GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3000
-NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11GB ASUS Strix OC
-Corsair H115i RGB Platinum + 2x LL140 RGB 280mm
-6x 120mm Corsair Light Loop LL120 RGB
-Windows 10 Pro 64bit

Hi all,
I have been recently having an issue where I suddenly get really long calculation times for computing secondary gi since updating to corona 4. I actually had this issue some time ago when I switched from corona 2 to 3 but never really found a solution.

My scene was only needing seconds to calculate secondary gi but suddenly it's estimates an hour(i quit after 10 mins). If I restart my computer and render at a lower resolution it eventually works, but I have to restart my computer every time I change the camera and can't render at 3000 pixels or above.

I thought that this is a RAM issue but I'm not getting any RAM warnings. Also I tried it on a scene that was working before installing corona 4 and the scene just stops rendering after about 30 passes with cpu usage going down to like 5%.

I also tried checking the conserve memory box to no avail. Also I have a back up system(crashplan) running at the same time, could this interfere at all?

Has anybody else experienced this kind of issue? I would appreciate any help. Cheers!
Phil

Here is a personal project titled “Pumpkin Harvest” that was my entry to the CGMood autumn competition.

I was inspired by still life photography by both Ustina Green and Anatoly Che.

Nearly everything in the scene is photoscanned using Agisoft Photoscan.
