I've fixed the issue with non-target corona lights. It should not crash anymore. If anyone could test it and report if all is working fine it would be great.

Best,

It would be cool if you also included the depth maps for the leaves.

It took ages in Dabarti to calculate in that resolution so I cancelled it knowing most people probably would not use it. But if there is a need from more of you guys I will rework the leaf shaders with depth map included

You can generate only depth map from 16-bit Normal (crop it first to make it faster). 8k wide depth takes around 40-50 minutes. Batch processing is possible.

ps. Very nice results !

Testing Light Assistant now and i've noticed that with this tool it is possible to set very low colour temperature of a light (down to 0 Kelvins), but it seems that Corona can't handle such extreme values and produces tons of NAN pixels. Is it possible to cap temperature at 1000K - the lowest limit Corona lights can go?

I will also report this on Corona bug tracker, maybe it can be handled on their side as well.

Sure, I could add it to the script. I've had an report that it crashes with non-target lights, did anyone else experience that ?

Best,

Thanks Tomasz.
Great talk last Friday!
Any chance that you will make a Corona version of your Vraymtl maps baking script?

regards

Johan

Thanks Johan !

It would be tricky as I see some elements are missing like glossiness. But it's possible that I will add some option to just add maps that user wants from the ones the given engine supports, that way it could be more universal. All this depends on how often we will use it internally ;) ... Since I only have time to develop tools that we use for production as well.

Best,

Hey guys,

As in title. It would be very handy if that worked especially with Light Assistant - https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php?topic=17266.0

Interactive basically doesn't catch lights position in real time, only after maxscript execution is finished:

Hi Guys,

I've added support for the corona lights inside my little free tool: Light Assistant.

http://dabarti.com/vfx/dabarti-light-assistant/

Video of how it works in Corona:

I have one BUG report though. I've noticed that Maxscript callbacks don't update interactive rendering in real-time, only after the maxscript execution is finished.
Can this be improved on Corona side ?
Should I somehow force corona update from Maxscript ?

Tomasz

It does work with corona lights now. It should work with any light that is targeted. Just use align selected or adjust selected.

I used corona a while back but now I prefer V-Ray and GPU rendering so that's why I added more functionality to control V-Ray Lights, but main functionality is there for everyone. :)

Grab it here - http://dabarti.com/vfx/dabarti-light-assistant/

Nice. Will it support 3d density maps ?

Hi,

First things first: Corona is awesome :).

Feature request: It would be great to be able to setup bump with real world scale values. Something like Vraycolor2bump map.

Tomasz

Well, I didn't render DOF in Corona. It was post in AE (lenscare). Wanted to have similar conditions for V-Ray and Corona to compare.

Hi guys,

Just tried out Corona for the first time. Good job with the engine so far.

I've attached Corona version of one of our last works. (this was rendered in v-ray and with different color grading - http://www.wyszolmirski.home.pl/forums/wheelchair.jpg )

render-time about 10 minutes in 1280x720.

Best regards,
