Title: Scene Environment override per Camera
Post by: CharlyRT on 2022-05-31, 00:43:26
Hi there, recently I started to work with Corona and I find very useful the ToneMapping and Postprocessing override options per Camera, I like to have everything organized in 1 file, so i have multiple cameras and complete spaces and always use State sets to make Batchrenders, is there a possibility to have an scene environment overrides? it could be very useful to have this implementation, because State sets doesnt save these changes.

I'm also finding myself wishing for a Camera-level direct visibility, reflections and refractions override (like what we have in Corona Renderer Scene settings) We can use scene states to control environment map per camera, but we have to use Render Presets to set direct visibility override per camera which is a bit of a pain and reduces the amount of customization possible in our in-house plugins

Hi,

"Manage Scene states" is a 3ds Max feature not Corona and it can store environment overrides. You need to select it. It's not selected by default. Please find attached the screenshot. A good workaround if you need a better scene manager for your 3ds Max then maybe you can have a look at Pulze scene manager plugin which kind of does the same thing but has more user friendly UI.

I don't quite understand your request fully and how this could work. Can you please explain this and it's use case scenario for a better understanding.

This feature would be very helpful.

I usually find myself needing to adjust the properties of the HDRI per camera. Even needing to assign a different HDRI per camera. So having an environment options per camera would be great!

Avi:

Thanks for answering, i know that with scene states you can save the environment but its really an old tool and not very practicall to manage it, also you need the batch render tool and it makes the process annoying, but im talking about "state sets" you have almost everything except environment, using an external tool like pulse isnt always optimal, i dont want to pay extra for that kind of tool.

Knowing that with corona camera you can overide everything it would be very useful if we can overide the environment for each camera.

"Manage Scene states is a 3ds Max feature not Corona" byt his youre saying that it cannot be implemented?

Hi RTstudio,

Sorry, if my previous message wasn't clear enough. What I meant was that the "Manage Scene States" is a 3ds Max feature and not directly related to Corona, so I can't guarantee if that specific feature will receive improvements or changes in the future.

However, the request you have for environment overrides per camera in Corona sounds interesting, and I understand how it could be helpful for your workflow. I have logged this feature request in our system for further consideration from our devs.

I use Pulze scene manager plugin to easily assign different environment maps per camera.
Having this built in Corona camera plus ability to set different render resolution per camera would be great addition.
+1 from me for this feature.

Thanks Avi, hope this could be integrated soon

Hi! Sorry to barge in here. I want to share some info about the script which I started to use after buying the Pulze. It helps to set up lights and control the cams in our fave CoronaRenderer.

The script is called Environment Per Camera by HaikoVisual.

If you want to know more and buy it, you may find the full info and contacts here: https://haikovisual.pro/scripts

I bought the script using the promotion code CreatorsDays. It may still work. I personally appreciated no subscription mode, possibility to use Overrides, and compact interface. The script provides full functionality for linking the lights to the cam and many more. You may find a functionality description on the link above.

I bought the script 8 months ago and use it every day in my architectural visualization projects. I'm also satisfied with the support and the fact that I can reach the developer and suggest some new functions.

Thank you! Nice find.
Why on earth don't scripts' creators publish on scriptspot is something I don't underrstand.

The ScriptSpot admin has not registered new accounts for 3 years, does not answer questions and it is impossible to write to support if you are not registered. Colleagues registered there also wrote to him, but he does not answer them either. Why on earth ScriptSpot admin does not register new accounts and does not answer his own users is something I don't understand.

I didn't know this. Too bad. We need a new place for scripts then.

EDIT - removed since it was probably not a good idea to expose someone to unsolicited emails. Sorry.

@Haikovisual is correct, it took me 2 years to get my account registered on scriptspot and now I have so much on github its just easier to promote through youtube and update in one place. Hopefully ill get around to updating it on scriptspot too one day but I have my workflow now.
