Work in Progress/Tests / Corona C4D Tests / Renderings
« on: 2014-06-14, 21:37:57 »
Hy everyone.
Like the other Testers hereby I open a thread where I will post renders and tests.
I know that my first renders are not as good and sophisticated as those from Josef and thvo82 this is mainly because I tested corona more from the technical side of things making a couple of smaller quick setups to go through the settings etc.

Hope you enjoy those first rough testes though

Cheers,
Raphael

Nice start Josef.
Looking forward seeing more of you.

While I only did technical testing I somehow feel the urge to also show off some renders now XD

Raphael

Really great results Congratulations!
Looking forward seeing more ;-)

Hi everyone
As the main Documentation seems not available anymore (since it has moved to 3Ds Max directly)
Is there any resource for Users that do not use 3Ds.

It would be nice to have a read trough the feature list of the standalone core (to see what it is capable of) and of course the different settings you find in Corona.
Expecially in GI aswell as the different rendering modes!

I would really appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction!

Cheers,
Raphael

REQUEST: Multible Reflection Layers in Corona Material

For more complex materials like car paint of carbon you need multible "coatings" of reflections. Therefore 3-4 layers (instead of currently a single one) of a reflections in the material would be appreciated.

Otherwise a mix material where you can stag multiple materials on top of each other would also suffice for this purpose.

See attached Screenshot of Vray material

REQUEST: Corona Object Tags (Visible in Reflection / Refraction / for Shadows etc)

In this Tag you normally can set all sorts of stuff on a object basis:
Visible to Camera
Visible in Reflections
Visible in Refractions
Visible to Shadow
etc.

See Screenshot for features of C4D

SUGGESTION: Take "Focal Distance" from C4D´s Camera "Focus Distance"

C4D Users are used to focus the scene by setting the C4D cameras Focus Plane.
You´ll find it under: C4D Camera, Attributes, Object, Focus Distance.

This can easily be linked to the Corona Camera Tag´s Focal Distance.

Also I have seen that there is a feature that allows Individual Maps to define the apperance of the Bokeh.
Would be really nice to see those in the Corona C4D Camera :-)

About the Focus Distance see Screenshot of C4D Camera attibutes

REQUEST: Mix Modes between a Texture and the Color for Materials

This is a Feature I use quite often to adjust the textures to the right brightness.
Although it could be done within the shader slot with layers etc. Its a neat and tidy way to quickly alter the texture to fit the need.

See Screenshot of a C4D Material

REQUEST: Environment Maps

Like in most other renderers a feature where you can set up either a color or bitmaps to surround the scene would be great. (So your color/bitmap is put on an infinitively large sphere around the scene)

The possibility to set up different maps for Visible Environment, Reflection, Refraction and GI would be appreciated!

Hy everyone.

As you might know I´m of the lucky guys was asked to test the Corona C4D Alpha.
Hopefully noone has hard feelings that I was chosen over somebody else that might already have had some experience with Corona. If so I´m sorry :-(

In this tread I try to list suggestions for improvements and feature requersts as I was told to do this here in the Forums and not in the Bug Tracker so everyone here (including the other testers) is able to follow and comment the progress!

Cheers and happy Testing / Developing.

Really nice render. I like the materials and shaders and the overall lighting mood.
Keep it up!
